Your favorite downtown bar with a neighborhood feel, officially closed on August 31, 2020. It is with a heavy heart to make this announcement, as we were forced to shut our doors permanently. We wish to thank you for nearly 18 years of support and wonderful memories. We could go into reasons for our decision or cast blame, but that is NOT the MugShots way!

On Friday the 13th of December 2002, Marcos Canchola, Brian Hyde and the late Keith Young opened MugShots. MugShots was the beginning of what has turned out to be one of the most amazing family of bars this lovely city has produced. We’re sure we have all had one of the best nights in our lives at either MugShots, The Hideout Pub, Bender Bar & Grill, Pour House Pub, Violet Crown Social Club, Pour House Pints & Pies and Hitmaker Brewing Company.

Again, we want to thank all the people that have graced our doors for nearly 18 years. Your loyalty to MugShots has been like no other. A special thanks to all our staff members past and present, your dedication is what separated MugShots from your typical downtown bar. Over the years you became like family, and you will truly be missed.

This Thursday and Friday from 4p-6p w’ll be selling 12oz cans to go at Hitmaker Brewing Company. $2 Kölsch, $2.50 IPA and Pale Ryder, and $3 Hill Country Haze. We’ll even discount a sixer for ya $9 Kölsch and $12 mixed. We’re located at 11160 Circle Dr. Austin 78736. Don’t forget your masks 😷

It is with great sorrow that we @ Mugshots had to temporarily board up our windows today. Due to an executive order bars have been forced to close again amidst the covid-19 global pandemic. We would like to thank Ashby, Noah and Spencer for their hard work and exceptional customer service during these fluctuating times. We did our part to keep Mugshots clean and inviting for all your drinking pleasure and you'll rewarded us with your presence. It was wonderful serving you'll and seeing your beautiful faces over the last two weeks! I so wish it could have been for forever and ever and ever! You'll genuinely bring the happiness out of us and into our bar! Mugshots loves you! Please stay tuned for updates and stay safe out there and we cant wait to see you'll again real soon! And if you can, yplease donate to the boys! We could definitely use your help during this second closure. Mugshots loves you!!!!

Mugshots will be opening tomorrow (Thursday) from 5pm-2am for your drinking pleasure! Please have patience and be kind to our staff and our patrons. This is a whole new world for each and everyone of us and it will be sooo much easier with a sprinkle of kindness and love! We will be following the guidelines recommended by the CDC, wiping down all commonly trafficked areas, wearing masks, and practicing social distancing. We will have some sanitizer at the door and we ask that you wear a mask walking throughout the building.
Spread the word and we cant wait to see your beautiful faces!
