Today we have Ben Jones. Soulful, authentic, kind, inspiring, insanely talented, with his charming British wit (and accent!🥰) to boot- it’s no surprise that everyone that meets Ben Jones falls in love with him… he is the best kind of friend & human, and we’re so grateful he’s part of our Depot family:)

What do you do? (What did you do?) I’m a musician, but really I exist just to be Ramona’s person (she’s my dog)

Somewhere you go for fun… I love Redbud Isle - but that might be the dog talking.

When did you start coming to Donn’s? 2014.

Favorite Donn’s memory? I have so many, and the vast majority have Chris Gage at the center of them. A top one would be when Christine organizing a celebration for his anniversary of playing there, his Donn-iversary. But there have been countless nights; the Range of music, the wonderful residencies, the loyalty that Donn has shown and instilled in everyone.

What is one thing you hope never changes about Donn’s? Everything. It is its own imperfectly, perfect existence. The place, the people. It’s an amazing equation that shouldn’t exist, but thankfully does. We’ve celebrated our victories and mourned our losses and everything in between. It’s been a safe place and a home base.

Favorite piece on Donn’s decor? The Donns Depot stained glass light that hangs over the bar.

If you could bottle a feeling from this place, what would it be?
The feeling when all of the community is together, no matter what the background of the individuals or where they came from, how it has provided a place where we all feel one together.

What brought you to Austin—and what made you stay? Music brought me here, and the people I met made me stay. Namely, Chris Gage and Christine Albert. It was seeing Chris Gage on a Monday that made me fall in love with Donns Depot, and allowed me a network of friends that have become family.
