Hello all. It's been a long time . I hope this post finds you all well .

For those of you who don't know, Nancy Lucas passed away on September 7th. Nancy was a well known icon around Hubbard and could be seen out walking every single day in the early morning hours. Nancy was also a long time bartender at The Original Hubbard Inn when it was owned by Virgil Stamps as well as Terry Harden. According to her long time partner Bill Ostrom, Nancy specified that she did not want a funeral but rather a celebration of her life instead. So for those of you who can make it, we will do just that at the American Legion in Canby on October 22, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bill says "The more the merrier in her honor". ❤🙏🎉

Hey everyone! It's hard to believe that exactly 10 years ago this evening, Broadacres Tavern closed permanently and everybody was 86'd, including myself (Shellie). So much has changed and we've lost so many dear to us since then as well. But one thing will never change and that is how much you are all missed and loved. Karen, I know everybody misses you too because you were the best boss and Tavern owner I've ever known. I hope this post finds all of you well. Much love!!!

Geri Bailey, long time Bartender at Broadacres, passed away on April 9, 2015. Geri was such a wonderful lady. Always so caring and concerned for others. Hugs and prayers for her husband Mike, her parents, her children, her grandchildren, and the rest of her family and many friends. Rest in peace, Geri. We will miss you so much.

I just found out someone very dear to my heart whom I hadn't seen since the summer, Mike Bartel, passed away on November 11th (coincidentally the same date as John Barrera & Mike Merten a few years back). Mike had been battling cancer for quite some time. I have never known someone who knew they had a terminal illness that had such a positive attitude as he did. He was always so concerned for others, and that always amazed me. RIP, Mike. We will never forget you. Love, Michelle & Geri

I just think it's too weird that this song just happened to play on the radio at the same time that I am editing and posting pictures from Broadacres' last day. Even some of the lyrics are such a crazy coincidence. OK, I guess this is officially my song for BA.

More to come, but for now, got big plans for the nite - going with my niece Brie, and my 2 daughters, to the Wheel of Fortune gameshow taping in Portland this eve. Gonna be fun!
