Some places bring back the sound of screen doors and gravel under your shoes before you even think about it. That’s what a walk through Aurora does for me.

The brick storefronts, the courthouse square feel, and the way the river town past still seems to linger in the buildings all make this place easy to picture in another time. It feels like a town that has seen a lot of Saturdays come and go without ever losing its own rhythm.

I always appreciate a place that doesn’t try too hard to impress you. It just lets the blocks, the porches, and the quiet corners tell the story.

Towns like this are worth slowing down for.
