A message from Charles Scavullo, former Executive Director of the Imperial Theatre as of May 15th. I considered posting this to my FB page but it may not have been seen by my Imperial Theatre FB friends. During the November 2025 meeting of the Board of Directors I announced my intention to retire at some point during 2026.
As May approached I felt it was time. I began working at the Imperial in March of 2007. It’s been a good run. Much was accomplished while I was there and there is much more to be done. I leave a and dedicated Board of Directors. Audrey our Box-office Manager/Marketing Assistant has been learning the ropes, essentially what I would do on a day-to-day basis. You’ll find her a pleasure to deal with. Our faithful volunteers are the backbone of the theatre. We work with the best tech staff in Augusta, but I’m biased. 😉
I have loved getting to know all the people I had the pleasure to meet through the years. That goes for patrons and user groups that utilized the Imperial for the performances and events. I wish all you a fond farewell. I’m not going anywhere so I look forward to seeing around the “house” in the future. I have always loved working at the Imperial Theatre and will continue to love the historic Imperial. I am attaching some fond memories. Love and peace, Charles
