One of the biggest misconceptions I hear in the event industry? 👇

“I need a licensed bartender.”

In Maine, there’s actually no such thing as a licensed bartender. Bartenders can be state-certified, but only certain businesses can legally sell alcohol to guests.

So what’s the difference between a dry hire service and a licensed bar service?

🍸 Dry Hire = You provide the alcohol, we provide the expertise.
🍺 Licensed Service = The business provides and sells the alcohol directly to guests.

Neither option is “better” per se, it simply depends on your event goals, budget, and the experience you want to create for your guests, and the rules of your venue!

How your emails have found me this week… ✈️💛

I’ve been in Montana soaking up family time and meeting my sweet niece, Flora. It has been the best kind of reset that I desperately needed.

Now it’s time to head home and dive into the busy season full force. I’m beyond excited for a summer packed with weddings, events, celebrations, and making memories with my MIDDLE SCHOOLER 😭 (seriously, how did that happen?!).

One of the greatest gifts of building this business has been creating the freedom to step away when it matters most and come back ready to give it my all!

What a weekend for RTB! ✨🍸

Friday, we had the absolute pleasure of being part of a STUNNING styled shoot (and trust me… you’re going to want to stay tuned for those photos 👀).

Then on Saturday, we had the honor of celebrating Megan’s surprise 40th birthday with a private mixology experience! Morgan absolutely knocked this floral-inspired celebration out of the park, and we were so grateful to be a part of such a beautiful day.

Guests crafted their own margarita flights featuring blackberry, pear, and spicy strawberry flavors before getting creative painting adorable plant pots for their new plant babies. We ended the afternoon with a tropical twist on a Bahama Mama! 🌸🪴

To top it all off, they sent me home with one of the baby plants and kept us fueled with some seriously delicious food. It’s days like these that remind me why I love what I do.

A huge shoutout to Amelia for always being the best assistant and to Morgan for trusting RTB to help celebrate such a special milestone. 🫶

Back at one of my absolute favorite venues, Boothby’s Orchard, celebrating Remy & Vincent! 🥂🍎

What an incredible day surrounded by an amazing team of vendors and an even better group of guests. Their signature drinks were a huge hit all night long, an Old Fashioned and a Blue Hawaiian. Let me tell you, this crowd knew their bourbon! 🥃 They brought an impressive selection, and we LOVE to see that.

Fun fact: my favorite cocktail to make is actually an Old Fashioned, so I was in my element all evening.

The beer selection was top-notch, the food may have been some of the best I’ve ever had at a wedding, and then they topped it all off with ice cream and coffee. Honestly, could you ask for anything more? 🍦☕️

Remy & Vincent, thank you for trusting Raising The Bar to be part of your special day. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

They’re honestly kinda my specialty. Over the years I’ve taught myself how to recreate a lot of my favorite cocktails as mocktails because I truly believe everyone deserves to feel included in the experience.

Whether you’re sober, pregnant, the DD, under 21, or just not drinking that night… you still deserve something fun and intentional in your hand. Not just soda or water.
