Did you know that every Fire Department along Bogue Banks, as well as Fort Macon State Park and the Adaptive Surf Project, has beach wheelchairs available for use FOR FREE? Read below for more information:
BEACH WHEELCHAIR RESOURCES – BOGUE BANKS, NC
GENERAL BEACH WHEELCHAIR RULES
1. A current valid Driver’s License or other approved form of ID must be presented at Check-Out. Some agencies may require a waiver.
2. Wheelchairs are loaned out on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are no rental fees. Charges for damage from abuse or negligence may apply.
3. Wheelchairs are checked out and returned daily. No Reservations, No Overnight usage.
4. Wheelchairs are to be used within the jurisdiction of the lending agency unless otherwise specified. (Note: Special circumstance requests for Out-of-Town, Overnight, or Extended usage may be considered by the lending agency on a case-by-case basis).
5. Customers must arrange for their own transport of beach wheelchairs.
