2.5 years ago, Cody and I met two guys at a bar. Last week, we hosted their seventh cocktail class experience! 🤯
It was a random Friday night exploring Marietta Square and Cody and I happened upon Silla Del Toro. We’re suckers for Spanish tapas (we met in Spain, a story for another day) so we walked right in and sat at the bar (duh).
Well we ended up sitting next to two guys dressed in business casual and struck up a conversation and proceeded to shoot the s**t for 2 hours! We have a knack for hitting it off with people at the bar, if you can believe it?! 😜
At some point they pulled out their phones and started showing us the renovation plans for their company’s new office kitchen. Of course my brain immediately went to: we need to host a cocktail class in there! And we told them a bit about what we do and why we started Home Bar Network etc…
So Monday morning, I went full stalker, tracked down their email addresses through LinkedIn and followed up.
And then... nothing. 😂
I remember thinking, damn. I really liked those guys. We really connected. Maybe my email got sent to spam?
Fast forward five months, and an email lands in my inbox from their VP of Business Operations.
The kitchen reno was finished. They were officially ready to book their first cocktail class! I was totally in shock and so excited that they remembered us so many months later.
After that inaugural happy hour, Home Bar Network cocktail classes quickly became ingrained in their company culture and a part of how their company celebrates its wins. A milestone, a big sale, an excuse to get the team together... we get the call.
And I think that’s just the coolest thing EVER. We feel so honored to be thought of in this way. And every time we get the call, we bring something fresh, new and unique to the table and we celebrate with what feels like old friends.
You truly never know what a spontaneous conversation at a bar can turn into! Thank you Occupied Renovations for seeing our passion and believing in what we do.
Moral of the story: strike up that conversation at the bar, you never know where it could lead you! 💯🥃❤️
