Collabin’ with ! Today, we are brewing a very special smoked lager with our friend Kevin Ely of Wooly Pig Farm Brewery (Fresno, OH). We are very excited to be working with malts for the very first time at Little Fish. This Indiana-based malt company is doing it right, growing their own grain and malting a wide range of products (including, lucky for us, smoked malt).
For this golden lager, we chose malt smoked over mulberry wood for some fruity, barbecue-y overtones. 45% smoked malt, 36% vienna malt, and 18% malted spelt went into the grist. It’s hopped with German Magnum and Hallertauer Mittelfruh to the tune of 22 IBU’s. And we’ll be fermenting it cold with our house lager strain.
Can’t wait to get this one on draft for you! Look for a release during (July 10-18).
