Bobby/Mister Days

I am saddened by the news that Mister Days is closing its doors. I first met Bobby when he would come over with some of his work crew for a drink or two after a day of remodeling his new space in Clarendon. I remember him telling me about an enormous amount of money he had spent for one of those newfangled hi def, really slim, flat screen tvs that you just hang on your wall like a picture. I believe that was the first one of those that I had ever seen in a bar. I also believe it was still hanging there fairly recently. After meeting Bobby, he not only became my trusted friend but my mentor as well. I could always go to him and ask about business problems or issues and know that he would be honest and straight with me and give me the best advice he could. We were always friends, never competitors. If you can't trust Bobby Lee who can you trust. I am proud that Bobby would come over to my place when he just needed a break and some time to clear his head; or a drink or two and a little fun. Bobby helped me get through one of our last nights. That's a tightly held story. Congratulations to you Bobby, and your trusted staff, for all of your success in your Mister Days era, before, and beyond. You have done a hell of a job. Bobby, I wish you nothing but the best, good health, long life, and Godspeed.
I ask that your next adventure be open by the time I get back to Arlington for a visit. We'll have a drink.

Hi!
All of you make me so very happy and so very sad at the same time.
I have never loved anything in my life, other than family and friends, more than Jay's Saloon & Grille.
I am shocked and amazed that we still get visits and even likes.
Thank all of you and I will forever love you for your love and support. If it wasn't for you there would have never been a Jay's.
I know that I am crazy but I am still hopeful for a Jay's (again) in Arlington.

During a fresh-air – or really, smoke – break on a bar patio this weekend, my friends and I stood around a tall, metallic space heater chatting with a man who was clearly from out of town.
