Pearl’s Cherokee

31 years after Marie Williams walked through the doors of the Cherokee, she decided to retire and her grandson, Lewis Wellings and his business partner, David Cowley are now the new owners. Many friends have walked through these doors and became family. We are a neighborhood bar that has been home to many people.

One of our proudest moments was being featured in Texas Monthly magazine as one of the top 8 Dive Bars to visit in Texas (January 2017 edition). People ask us all the time how we did it. Very simple, the editor was on his way to Dallas to interview another bar. He had heard about us through some people in Houston who had just visited us on a trip. He stopped in one Saturday morning, sit at the bar, was surrounded by our Saturday Bloody Mary group (Marie leading the group) and stated he had never had that much fun! He was the only guy with about 10 ladies who included him right into the fun. He finally told us who he was and of course we started searching his name on the internet. He truly was an editor of Texas Monthly. He never made it to Dallas. Out of 100 bars he visited, we made the cut to the top 20 and then the photo shoot. We never had as much fun as that photo shoot. After the shoot, the photographers stayed with us until last call! The rest is history. First bar listed in the article and in our opinion, the best bar listed.

Friday and Saturday nights, you can come in relax and listen to the bands. We have everything ranging from Country to Blues. The bartenders will entertain you while serving you some of the coldest beer around Arlington. We have pool tables, dart boards and of course a Jukebox that never quits.
