Happy Friday! With all the beautiful sunshine we’ve been getting we’ve decide to feature three Portuguese whites for tonight’s Friday Night Flight. We’re starting with a longtime EDW classic, the Gazela Vinho Verde, a light, super refreshing slightly spritzy white that screams summertime and is the perfect companion to any outdoorsy gathering. Next we have the Muralhas Vinho Verde, a delicious and unique tale of the region’s classic, effervescent whites. This one is vinified as a still white, so no bubbles, but it has magnificent complexity and is absolutely delicious. Finally we’re finishing up with the Bucelas Vinho Branco, an exceptional, lightly oxidized white from a small DOC in Portugal that we love for its uniqueness and complexity. As always, no need to sign up in advance, just come through the shop any time between 4:30pm and 6:30pm. And of course, we are more than happy to serve you in the beautiful courtyard, because why wouldn’t we want to enjoy this beautiful day?? Cheers, and hope to see you tonight 🍷

Happy almost June! Join us for a FREE tasting this Monday (June 1st) with wines, one of our favorite Michigan producers based out of Traverse City! This will be a free drop-in tasting, so no need to sign up! Just come by the shop this coming Monday anytime between 4pm and 6pm and we’ll guide you through some incredible Michigan wines! Happy Friday! For tonight’s Friday Night Flight we’re pouring Cabernet Franc! We’ve got three bottles from three different French regions renowned for their Cabernet Franc, including a rosé! First up we’re pouring the Maison LeBrun ‘En Mirebeau’ Cabernet d’Anjou Rosé from Anjou, located in the Loire Valley. Next we have the Plouzeau Cabernet Franc Rive Gauche Rouge from Chinon! Fresh and drinkable but full of rich red fruit and lovely earthy notes, this is an exemplary bottle of Cabernet Franc. Finally we’ve got the Domaine de la Chanteleuserie ‘Cuvée Alouettes’ from Bourgeuil. A “bistro style” wine intended for youthful enjoyment, this is an incredibly versatile expression of Cab Franc that we absolutely adore. Happy Friday! We have yet another really fun Friday Night Flight for you this evening: Central and Eastern European wines! Tonight we’re featuring some unique styles and varietals from Slovenia, Croatia, and Ukraine! We’re starting tonight’s flight with the Rebula, a super elegant skin-contact wine from Goriska Brad, Slovenia that has a lovely richness and good tannins balanced by a refreshing acidity and a hint of white florals. Next we have the Pilizota Plavina from Dalmatia, Croatia. This is a lovely coastal red made from Plavina, a native Croatian varietal. Super lively and drinkable with nice minerality and a subtle hint of earth. Finally we have the Shabo Saperavi Reserve from Odessa, Ukraine. This fruit-forward, elegant wine has great body and structure complimented by a vibrant acidity and some earthy, peppery notes. Happy Friday! For tonight’s Friday Night Flights we’re exploring Sauvignon Blancs from around the world! Sauvignon Blanc is a fresh, fun, summery grape, and with today’s beautiful weather we thought it would be fun to feature a few to pair with the sunshine! First up we have the The Ned, a beautiful expression of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc that’s bursting with notes of ripe tropical fruit and mouthwatering acidity. Next up we have the Tagua Tagua Sauvignon Blanc from Central Valley, Chile. A unique expression of the varietal, this wine is super herbaceous with a great minerality and notes of refreshing citrus. Finally we have the Sauvignon Blanc, a richer expression of the grape that had incredible texture and mouthfeel balanced by a lean minerality and notes of fresh herbs and bright citrus. As always, no need to sign up in advance tonight, just come through the shop any time between 4:30pm and 6:30pm (or until the bottles run out!) Happy Friday! We have another fun producer spotlight for tonight’s Friday Night Flight! This evening we’re featuring .oficial - a wonderful Portuguese producer that makes incredibly approachable natural wines with a focus on indigenous varietals! Tonight we’re tasting their Siria, lovingly called the queen grape varietal of the region, which is a lovely medium-bodied white with tons of complexity. Next we’ve got their Baga, a wonderful varietal that beautiful balances ripe fruit with a refreshing acidity. Finally we have their 100% Rufete, an incredibly smooth yet full bodied red that’s incredible elegant and super versatile! Happy Friday! We have a spectacular flight picked out for y’all tonight! Today we’re doing a producer spotlight on a longtime favorite: G.D. Vajra! Based out of Piedmont, they have an incredible range of wines that we’ve loved for a long time. Tonight we’re starting out with their ‘Rosabella’ rosé, a Nebbiolo dominant blend that’s bright, summery, and super juicy! Next we have the “Clare J.C.” A super fun Nebbiolo made in a historic style that is light and super crisp that we love with a hearty chill. Finally we’re finishing strong with their Rosso, a rustic field blend bursting with notes of dried herbs and dark fruit. As always, no need to sign up in advance tonight! Just come through the shop anytime between 4:30pm and 6:30pm (or until the bottles run out!) Happy Friday! We have another really fun Friday Night Flight for y’all today! Tonight’s theme is “We’ll-Known Grapes from Unexpectes Places,” featuring varietals you may already know and love from places you wouldn’t necessarily expect to find them. We’re staring off with the NUALA Wines Riesling from New Zealand! An incredible expression of this varietal with New Zealand’s unique terroir, it’s bright a zippy with a fun tropical fruit note that’s an incredibly fun twist on this delightful grape. Next up we have the Lis Neris Wines Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Sauvignon has been grown in Friuli since the 1800s, but it’s not necessarily a varietal most would expect from Italy, and this one is exceptional! A lighter expression of the grape than one would expect, this wine is bursting with note of juicy red currant and a lot of savory herbs. Finally we’re pouring the Zorzal Wines Cabernet Franc! This super fresh expression of Cabernet Franc is sourced from grapes picked earlier than usual, with lots of earthy black pepper and some lovely tannins that give it incredible structure. Happy Friday! We have a really fun Friday Night Flight picked out for you tonight featuring some incredible wines from PortoVino Imports- an importer of organic French and Italian wines sourced from small producers. Tonight we have three unique wines from the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy! We’re starting off the flight with the Mirco Mariotti Fontana dell’Emilia Bianco ‘Smarazen,’ a super beachy, fizzy wine from vines planted right next to the Adriatic Sea. Next we have the Bulli ‘Julius’ Bolle Macerato Frizzante, a delightful skin-contact frizzante made from a local varietal called Malvasia di Candia. A stunning orange color in the glass, this wine has delicate floral notes and an incredibly juicy acidity. Finally we’re finishing up with the Bulli ‘Cor’ Colli Piacentini Rosso- a light-bodied, chillable red blend of 60% Barbera, 30% Bonarda, and 10% Uva Rara. Light and zippy with lots of crunchy red fruit balanced by an incredible minerality. As always, no need to sign up in advance tonight, just come by the shop any time between 4:30pm and 6:30pm.
