CORRUPTION: Satyrs' Night DJ spotlights continued:
Chris Moondancer has been a longtime presence within Detroit’s underground electronic and dark alternative scene. Active in both musical projects and DJ culture since 2007, he first built his reputation through internet radio before transitioning into club DJing with an early appearance at Labyrinth opening for The Crüxshadows. That performance helped launch a steady career behind the decks, eventually leading to a residency upstairs at Detroit’s Leland City Club.
Moondancer was also one of the six resident DJs for the much-loved Dead-Line Wednesdays at The Works during the late 2000s era, helping soundtrack one of Detroit’s most memorable dark alternative weekly events. Years of performances throughout Metro Detroit earned him recognition as a three-time nominee for Outstanding Electronic/Dance DJ at the Detroit Music Awards, solidifying his reputation as a respected and reliable fixture within the city’s nightlife community.
A frequent guest at Ann Arbor’s long-running Factory Mondays at Necto, Moondancer became known for versatile sets blending Industrial, EBM, Aggrotech, Synthpop, Goth, and Post-Punk. Whether delivering pounding club tracks, melodic synth-driven cuts, or darker retro selections, his approach has always balanced dancefloor momentum with a genuine passion for underground music culture. Though now semi-retired from regular performances, he still occasionally returns to the DJ booth to share his enduring love for dark electronic music and reconnect with the community that helped shape his long-running career.
