FernCrest Winery Tasting Room The tasting room is open Apr-mid Dec Thurs-Fri 12:30-6:30 Sat-Sun 12:30-5:30. Jan - Mar Thurs 3:30-6:30 p. Any other days & time are by appointment.

Closed major Holidays We are a small family winery and tasting room. We do private tastings at your event. The winery is located near the vineyard on the crest of a hill in the Snowbird Mountains of Cherokee County, NC. We opened the tasting room in downtown Andrews in May 2016. All of our wines are named for ferns. Kurt grows ferns from spores so FernCrest came into being. We planted a small vine

yard with Chardonel, Vidal Blanc and Cynthiana grape vines. Our first vintage was in 2013 with the Chardonel and Vidal Blanc winning Gold at the Wine Makers Magazine International Amateur Competition. We won 5 medals in 2016 - 2 gold for the Vidal Blanc, 2 silver for the Chardonel and 1 silver for the Cynthiana. We won 2 medals in 2017 - 1 silver for our Cynthiana Rose and a bronze for our blackberry/blueberry wine. Kurt has been making wine for many years and began using grapes and fruit in 2007. We have 5 white wines and 4 red wines for tasting and sale. We create custom wine baskets for gifts and special occasions. We sell local cheese from Yellow Branch Farms and assorted crackers. Look for our locals' night out events during the winter months. Our logo is a family crest with the Snowbird Mountains on the top. Make an appointment for a private wine tasting any day of the week.

A few days ago, we were sitting near the airport waiting on a guest when this plane took off.

And it got us talking.

Think about it...

There are probably a hundred people on that plane.

One is heading home after a long trip.

One is going to see family they haven't seen in years.

One is starting a vacation they've been counting down to for months.

One is headed to a job interview that could change their life.

Same plane.

A hundred different stories.

That's one of the things we enjoy most about what we do. Every ride has a story behind it. A wedding. A reunion. A business trip. A honeymoon. A family visit.

We're just a small part of helping people get to whatever chapter comes next.
