Our hearts are with Tamara, the family, friends, staff, and everyone affected by the last night's tragic events at Carmel's. Though we did not know him quite as well as others, in a small community, losses like this are felt far and wide. We extend our deepest condolences to all who are grieving and wish strength and comfort to those facing the difficult days ahead.

After a situation this morning with a Mom who came in demanding to know what our policies are for minors, because they are not supposed to be unsupervised if they are under a certain age... it occured to me that this needs to be a conversation so that we can clear something up and avoid future misunderstandings.

Here is what I was able to find on rules pertaining to minors being in certain establishments for the state of Montana.

In the State of Montana, state law does not universally ban minors from being inside bars, taverns taprooms or any other alcoholic establishments. Because there is no blanket state regulation these rules are largely dependent upon the House Policies of each specific establishment or local city/county ordinances.

There aren't any real regulations in most of the state. So in keeping with that and the fact that it's pretty much up to our discretion.... here are the rules...

1.) Minors are not allowed to belly up to the bar. They can order drinks i.e. water or soda, but they must sit away from the bar itself.

2) Minors 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or gaurdian after 7 p.m.

3.) We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.

Obviously there is no alcohol being served to minors... I figured it went without saying... but just encase.

We don't mind minors being here and playing games. As long as you are respectful of the equipment, environment and each other we are pretty much good.
