We need your help, Idaho Falls. 🍋
Summer Nights Italian Ice is heading into a new season, and for the first time, we find ourselves without a place to park. If we can't find a location, we won't be able to open this summer — and that thought is really hard for our family to sit with.
We started this business right out of our front yard. No fancy setup, no big investment — just our family, some real-fruit Italian ice, and a hope that our neighbors might show up. And they did. What grew out of those evenings became something we never expected. We'd look up from scooping and see neighbors visiting in lawn chairs, kids chasing each other through the grass, and dads pushing their daughters on the tree swing while the summer light came through the leaves. Those nights reminded us why we started.
One evening in particular stays with us. It was a perfect summer night and we were in full swing when a storm rolled in out of nowhere and started dumping rain on us. We were soaked, scrambling, and honestly — we wanted to quit. Then someone from the neighborhood rushed over with an ez-up and threw it over our setup without us even asking. The moment they got it up, the rain stopped. And that night turned into one of our busiest ever — people poured out after the storm to spend their evening with us. That moment said everything about this community.
Over the years, the people who have found us have meant the world to us. Moms who came back week after week because we use real fruit and offer dye-free options — grateful to have something they could hand to their kids without worry. Older ladies who told us it was gentle on their stomachs and just the right kind of treat on a warm evening. Regulars who became friends. That's who we're doing this for.
Here's what we're asking. Our mentor has encouraged us to test different locations in two-week windows to find the spots that work best — so we're not looking for a permanent commitment from anyone. We operate two portable setups: a small horse trailer that needs access to a power source, and a second self-contained trailer that brings its own power and can go just about anywhere. We'd love to be on or near a main road for visibility, but we're flexible and open to what comes. We're also happy to explore the surrounding communities of Shelley, Ririe, Rigby, and beyond.
