Due to reasons well beyond our control, all of us at the Mouse Trap Cafe are very sad to announce that we have had no alternatives and must close the doors permanently. For all of you that have attended and the thousands that have come through the door to enjoy this incredible atmosphere that was brought to the Amityville Long Island area, we thank all of you for the time spent together and the friendships that were made. (And remember an old saying, "it's not how many times you get knocked down, but how many times you get back up" and move on to bigger and better things.)

NOTICE

The Mouse Trap Cafe will be suspending operations temporarily, for the following reasons. The Mouse Trap Cafe has been operating under a temporary certificate of occupancy issued by the Village of Amityville for a period of one year, The village of Amityville failed to inform us during the construction phase and then notified us two days prior to opening that a fire suppression system was needed, ( this was never discussed nor in the original approved plans, approved by the Village of Amityville) We have reached out to the state of New York and have been denied twice, this issue is now under appeal for a variance. Secondly, our insurance company may deny any claims should an issue occur, The safety of all individuals visiting the café is always our primary concern. Until this matter is rectified, the Mouse Trap Cafe will remain closed due to legal reasons beyond our control.
