Meet Katie Bunch of ! We’re kicking off our Vendor Spotlight series with a photographer who has captured beautiful wedding moments here at Wolf Creek Vineyards.

We asked Katie about her photography journey, her favorite wedding-day moments, and what couples should know when choosing their photographer!

Q: Tell us about yourself and your photography business. How did you get started photographing weddings?

My name is Katie Bunch & I am a wedding/portrait photographer based in South, Ga. Ever since I was a little girl I always had a love for photography, getting my first pink camera as a Christmas gift when I was just a kid! After a couple years of just doing portrait photography I booked my first wedding & fell in love with shooting weddings. I feel like I really get to know not only the couple but their whole circle of family & friends. The community I have been introduced to because of weddings has been such a blessing.

Q: What is your favorite part of photographing a wedding day? Are there candid moments you especially love capturing?

My favorite part is getting the couple married! Many of these couples have been together for so long that long awaited “you may kiss the bride” feels so special. As far as candid moments go, I love capturing reactions. Whether that is mom’s reaction to first look with bride & dad, parents reactions to the bride walking down the aisle, or the bride’s reaction to the groom’s first dance with his mother. As much as I love capturing the big moments themselves also love making sure the little moments between are captured.

Q: Having photographed at Wolf Creek Vineyards, what stands out about the property from a photographer’s perspective?

The endless amount of spots for photos! All around the outside of the reception space is gorgeous & even inside the reception space the lighting is perfect & the area is so open so it makes for beautiful group photos. And of course the vineyards!!!

Q: What is one thing couples often overlook when planning their wedding photography?

I think it is so important to see a photographers full wedding gallery before booking with them. As much as photographers share on social media that is still just their highlight. It is so important to see a photographers whole gallery to ensure you like their work from the start of the day to the end.

Q: What advice would you give couples who are choosing a wedding photographer?

Choose someone you connect with! Your wedding photographer isn’t just someone to take photos on your wedding day. More times than not you are meeting your photographer ahead of time for engagement photos then spending hours of the biggest day of your life with them. Your wedding photographer captures some really special moments you only get once in your life so it is important you really connect with this person, not just like their photos!

BONUS Q: What’s something you’ve learned photographing weddings that would surprise most couples?

first look does not ruin the aisle moment. First many couples doing a first look helps ease their nerves more than anything. Then you will still get that walking down the aisle moment/feel because it really is a totally different thing than a first look!

A little sunshine for your Monday, courtesy of this lovely couple. 💍🤍

Golden hour at Wolf Creek Vineyards made the perfect backdrop for a very special “yes.”

Michael surprised Zoe with a beautiful, thoughtful and perfectly planned proposal among the vines, with family and loved ones waiting nearby to celebrate. We were moved by the care he put into every detail to make the moment so special for her.

And, of course, Zoe said yes! 🤍

We’re so grateful we got to witness a little piece of their story and share in the celebration.

There’s something very sweet about making room for the youngest people in the room. 🖍️🤍

This beautiful wedding at Wolf Creek featured a table just for the kids, complete with coloring pages, activities, floor cushions and their own place settings. We absolutely adore this idea.

Because when you’re a kid, a wedding is a very long day filled with very important responsibilities. There are flowers to carry, rings to guard, grown-ups to charm and, eventually, a dance floor to take over.

Sometimes the smallest gestures are the ones that lovingly say, you belong here too.

Kids on your wedding guest list? Save this one for the planning folder. It’s the kind of little detail you’ll be glad you remembered.

Celebrating 4 wonderful years of Natalie ✨

This weekend, Wolf Creek had the pleasure of being the setting for Natalie’s 4th birthday celebration, complete with pizza buffet, sweet treats, music, activities and plenty of room for a little outdoor fun.

One of the questions we hear often is, “Can we book the Americus Street Trolley?”

The answer is yes! The Americus Street Trolley is available for weddings and other special events throughout Sumter County, making it a charming way to transport your wedding party or guests while adding a memorable touch to your celebration.

If you’re hoping to include the trolley in your wedding plans, their biggest tip is to start the reservation process early. Because availability is limited, it’s always best to begin the process well in advance of your wedding date.

To get started, contact the Americus Welcome Center at (229) 928-6059 or stop by 101 W. Lamar Street in downtown Americus. They’ll help you begin the reservation process, check availability for your date, and answer any questions you may have. Be sure to ask for Steve!
