Releasing today, and just in time for the 4th annual Poppy Pedal Bike Rideabout, is our Poppy Pedal Pale Hazy Hoppy Beer!

The Poppy Pedal Pale was brewed with a portion of middle range Munich malt (from our buds ) and sizable additions of Amarillo and Chinook hops, imparting rad candied orange and dried papaya notes across the sip. The palate is soft and smooth, with a restrained bitterness, and the beer is drinkable as all get out. Swing by and skull a few pints; and pick up a 4-pack to go while you’re here. It is delicious people! Oh, and a portion of proceeds will be donated to to carry on their amazing work championing outdoor trailaccess in Amador County. 🤙

Think you might be hungry? will be rolling up the sushi and firing up some delicious asian fusion dishes all weekend. Don’t snooze on the serious good food.

Tomorrow (Saturday 4/13) is our 4th annual Poppy Pedal, and we will ride RAIN OR SHINE! Pack your slickers, and get ready for puddles. Don’t worry, we will have heaters and coverage at the brewery to help you dry off, and our friends the .lifters will be laying down a select soundtrack to keep your blood pumping.

Orval Day at Break Even - Saturday March 23rd!!

If you’ve visited us at our Beergarden and Kitchen space in quirky Amador City you likely know that we do love our Orval. Made at the Notre Dame d’Orval Abbey in Belgium under the watchful eye of Anne-Francoise Pypaert (the first and only female Master Brewer in a Trappist Monastery), Orval is equal parts tradition, romance, complexity, and depth. Malty and bitter; herbaceous and leathery; fruity and dry.

For the second year now, we are hosting Orval Day at our Beergarden. We’re celebrating our love for this iconic beer through good times special stuffs. We will be offering cellared bottles of Orval of different vintages for comparison and discussion. We’re also raffling off some great Orval and Break Even merch and swag. And we’ve got Wok & Roll here ALL WEEKEND doing a pop-up in our kitchen all weekend long, turning out delicious beer-friendly Asian fare (swipe for a menu!).

One more thing — we are also featuring our homage to Orval, Brett Hearth. This is a further iteration of our flagship copper beer Hearth, but — similar to Orval — is packaged with a dose of Brettanomyces Bruxellensis yeast evolves to impart a silky carbonation, and deeper ranges of flavor and funk over time.

Orval Day is THIS SATURDAY! Brave the weather — we’ve got some easy ups and rain structures to keep you dry. Good times guaranteed.
