The Washington, D.C. Chapter began with 22 Members in 1998 and has now some 60 Members. The peripatetic nature of Black Tie Club Members is evidenced by the fact that many D.C. Chapter Members are now found in other Chapters such as Asheville, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, New York/New Jersey, Palm Beach, Palm Springs, and Rehoboth Beach-Lewes. Chapter also has been enhanced by Members from other Chapters, notably, Atlanta, Dallas, New York/New Jersey, Palm Beach, Palm Springs, San Antonio, and San Francisco. Membership is by invitation only. Dress is always black tie only. Black Tie Club International has more than 1000 Members. There are 21 Chapters: Ashville, Atlanta, Baton Rouge, Central Florida [Daytona Beach, Orlando, and Jacksonville], Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Laguna Beach, Los Angeles, New Mexico, New York-New Jersey, Palm Beach, Palm Springs, Philadelphia, Phoenix-Scottsdale, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, Rehoboth Beach-Lewes, Rochester-Finger Lakes, Toronto, and Washington, DC.
