LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,
THIS IS A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT. YOU MUST READ THIS!!!!
On the 24th of January 2020 my team and I made history at the national theatre when we staged a comedic play titled . We managed to pull off an audience of 250 people (plus).
The storyline in this play left our audience not only overwhelmed but unsatisfied. The show went on for an hour, for those who attended you can testify the unlimited comedy throughout the whole show that caused stomach aches, ribs became numb and as if that wasn't enough... Tears of humour flowed.
I'll give you a brief sprinkle into the story for those who missed.
"WOMANCHESTER is a women empowering comedic play. The play is about a moslem female character named HADIJAH. Hadijah grew up with a strong passion for soccer but she was always discouraged by society. Being a daughter to the town imam, she was told never to abandon her ijab for a soccer jersey. Her own father told her never to dream about playing football, and reminded her that "if a woman can cook then a woman has succeded". Hadijah decided to do everything society told her a woman couldn't do the moment she was old enough to make decisions. She married three men and had them do all the housework as she went to work. The story continues as we see the husbands go through challenges to impress one womanchester."
The play was written & directed by Me, co-directed by Edwin Mukalazi . It was produced by Asiimwe Gabriella
The production staged at the national theatre on the 24th of January 2020, due to public demand.. It was restaged again on 26th Liberation day. But that was only the first episode of the complete story.
