Schoolpub is the first of its kind in Ukraine to create a unique blend of a pub, a language club, and a concert venue. It draws members of the international community as much as it attracts the locals. Our statistics shows that the majority of the open-minded foreigners coming to this city eventually end up at Schoolpub, not to mention the local intellectual élite that had already made Schoolpub its second home. And we hope you make it here too. We feel that our guests and staff alike are part of one family. So there is in fact more to Schoolpub than just friendship or business. Schoolpub is a great place to learn and improve your English. You can be learning grammar for decades, but without active practice speaking a language fluently is a task close to impossible. We have created an environment where you can have an experience of being totally submerged into an English-speaking setting, as if you were in Seattle. Come to Schoolpub and discuss American politics, talk to that girl at the other table, or plot a coup. Actually wait, no coup plotting in Schoolpub. Sorry. And if you need grammar we can help you with that too. We have a rather simple set of rules at Schoolpub. In fact, you only need to remember one of them: speak and drink English! Even if you are a local and so are your buddies across the table, speak English! If you speak another language there is a fine which you should put into our charity box. The money will go to the army volunteers, orphanages, or homeless pets. Good causes, in other words. Another rule is keep the volume down when you are outside. Respect the babooshkas living next door and give the police a chance to improve their English without resorting to handcuffs and anti-riot gear. Every weekend we have live music. Blues, electronic, funk, jazz, rockabilly, you name it. We are even thinking of adding a bit of Nigerian rap to our musical palette. In general, music, being an international language that is understood and shared across cultures is of paramount importance to Schoolpub.
