Our female lonely wild dog run two different impalas in two different hunting attempts into the lake's water and finally caught a third one of her own, a couple of mornings ago. It didn't go very well for the impalas... Impressive video from our guest Fiona Powell.

After sharing the impala with the hyaena the female wild dog took the fetus and moved away to eat it, then went into the shallow water to cool off after the long run. You can see how crocodiles came closer to the shore as they saw the wild dogs..

What a scene unfolded under our eyes! We were at the car park when impalas run through chased by a female wild dog, we jumped in the car and went looking for her.
We found her just behind camp still running after impalas when she caught one by the leg and a hyaena that was following went to “help” quickly killing the impala.
They then shared the food mouth to mouth as we have never seen before! Part 1

The season of the Doum palm fruits is coming to an end and 2 days have passed without elephants spending time in Lake Manze Camp - Nyerere ex Selous but only passing through. July and August are the best months for elephants lovers as several families (5-6) and few bulls visit the camp on a daily basis and spend time feeding amongst the tents. From now on, visits are more sporadic and animals mainly pass through the camp to spend time in the swamp across the channel. Giraffes and impala are always around and let's see who will become the next visitors to the camp.

Boat safari on Lake Manze Camp - Nyerere ex Selous with the soundless solar power engine is always a memorable experience. Great hippo, crocodiles, birds and with a bit of luck also giraffe or elephant crossing.
