It appears Ryanair, which was set to suspend flights into Bodrum and Dalaman, is on the point of reversing its decision after critical negotiations with tourism representatives.
As a result, a significant agreement has been reached to restart flights to Bodrum and Dalaman starting in January 2027.
The development emerged after the Irish-based airline giant had previously decided to cancel its Bodrum and Dalaman flight programmes citing financial conditions and rising fuel costs.
Following negotiations with Turkish tourism stakeholders and intense diplomatic efforts that have been ongoing for approximately two months, a promising point was reached.
A comprehensive online meeting was held with the participation of Ryanair's senior executive, Michell Brain, to review the cancellation decision and reschedule flights to the region.
The meeting, which lasted approximately an hour, included the management of the TÜRSAB Regional Representative Board, the President of the Bodrum Hotel Owners Association (BODER), Ömer Faruk Dengiz, and other industry representatives.
During the meeting, which covered issues directly affecting tourism in Muğla and the Aegean region in detail, the strategic importance of the Dalaman and Bodrum routes was conveyed to Ryanair management.
The focus of the negotiations was on resuming flights by January 2027 at the latest. Industry representatives reported that the meeting was extremely constructive and positive, emphasizing that this process is a vital milestone for entering the 2027 tourism season with a strong air transport link.
While thanking all colleagues, stakeholders, and association managements who contributed to the process, it was announced that a second meeting will be held next Friday with the Ryanair delegation to finalize the technical details. The outcome will be announced after that date.
