WHAT IS CRAFT BEER? When trying to define craft beer, each beer lover has a unique interpretation and story of discovery to share. To make a true craft beer definition even more difficult, each individual beer brand is one of a kind. The Brewers Association does define an American craft brewer as: Small - Annual production of 6 million barrels of beer or less (approximately 3 percent of U.S. annual sales). Beer production is attributed to the rules of alternating proprietorships. Independent- Less than 25 percent of the craft brewery is owned or controlled (or equivalent economic interest) by a beverage alcohol industry member that is not itself a craft brewer. Traditional- A brewer that has a majority of its total beverage alcohol volume in beers whose flavor derives from traditional or innovative brewing ingredients and their fermentation. Flavored malt beverages (FMBs) are not considered beers. OUR STORY Beertopia was established to promote and efficiently distribute craft beer throughout Pattaya and the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand. Our beers are imported into Thailand via an uninterrupted cold-chain-(A cold chain is a temperature-controlled supply chains. An unbroken cold chain is an uninterrupted series of storage and distribution activities which maintain a given temperature range) - supply line. Simply put, the minute the beer is bottled, it is kept at the optimal temperature from the craft brewery to the end customer. This includes refrigerated delivery vehicles, temperature controlled shipping containers and cold storage at all points in between. Why do we do this? Unlike mainstream, mass produced beer that sits in the sun for weeks or even months, craft beers are unpasteurized and made without preservatives. An uninterrupted cold-chain is critical in ensuring the beer is at its best.
