Dear Friends,
Writing this is very difficult for us, and our hearts are still incredibly heavy with grief. But above all, we feel an immense sense of gratitude towards each and every one of you.
We recently received the photos of Dirk’s funeral in Thailand, and we want you to know how deeply moved we were by what we saw. You created a farewell for him that was so beautiful, peaceful, and full of love. It was more than we could ever have hoped for.
The flowers, the wreaths, and the quiet dignity of the ceremony brought us great comfort from afar. In these difficult days, seeing the care and respect with which Dirk was surrounded has given us peace of mind.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything you did. You did not simply organize a funeral; you created a loving and meaningful farewell. Your efforts are a testament to the person Dirk was and to the friendships he built throughout his life. He would have been very proud.
We hope that one day, when my health allows it and circumstances permit, I will be able to travel to Khon Kaen and personally thank all of you.

เรียนเพื่อน ๆ ที่รักทุกท่าน
การเขียนข้อความฉบับนี้เป็นเรื่องที่ยากมากสำหรับพวกเรา และหัวใจของเรายังคงหนักอึ้งด้วยความโศกเศร้าอย่างยิ่ง แต่เหนือสิ่งอื่นใด เรารู้สึกซาบซึ้งและขอบคุณทุกท่านจากใจจริง
เมื่อไม่นานมานี้ เราได้รับภาพถ่ายจากพิธีศพของเดิร์กในประเทศไทย และเราอยากให้ทุกท่านทราบว่า เรารู้สึกประทับใจและซาบซึ้งอย่างลึกซึ้งกับสิ่งที่ได้เห็น พวกท่านได้จัดการอำลาให้เขาอย่างงดงาม สงบ และเปี่ยมไปด้วยความรัก ซึ่งเกินกว่าที่เราจะเคยคาดหวังไว้เสียอีก
ดอกไม้ พวงหรีด และความสง่างามอันเงียบสงบของพิธีการ ได้มอบความอบอุ่นใจให้แก่เราจากระยะไกล ในช่วงเวลาที่ยากลำบากนี้ การได้เห็นความเอาใจใส่และความเคารพที่ทุกท่านมอบให้แก่เดิร์ก ทำให้เรารู้สึกสบายใจและมีความสงบในจิตใจ
จากก้นบึ้งของหัวใจ เราขอขอบคุณสำหรับทุกสิ่งที่ทุกท่านได้ทำ ท่านไม่ได้เพียงแค่จัดงานศพเท่านั้น แต่ยังได้สร้างการอำลาที่เต็มไปด้วยความรักและความหมาย ความพยายามของทุกท่านเป็นสิ่งที่สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงตัวตนของเดิร์ก และมิตรภาพที่เขาได้สร้างไว้ตลอดชีวิต เขาคงจะรู้สึกภาคภูมิใจเป็นอย่างยิ่ง
เราหวังว่าสักวันหนึ่ง หากสุขภาพของข้าพเจ้าดีขึ้นและสถานการณ์เอื้ออำนวย ข้าพเจ้าจะมีโอกาสเดินทางไปยังจังหวัดขอนแก่น เพื่อกล่าวคำขอบคุณต่อทุกท่านด้วยตนเอง
