As we discussed yesterday.
I have been visiting Baan Lung Pitak a daycare/school for underprivileged kids since 15th May 2022, the anniversary of my mother passing. I wanted to.do something nice in her memory.
I posted on Facebook what I had done and immediately was being offered donations to go again, this very quickly snowballed!!! If memory serves over 100000 in the first week!..We visited the school and donation a lot of food and replaced equipment that was beyond repair.
The donations kept coming, and ever since I have been making weekly visits delivering food that they need each week. The list of items change each week depending on their needs, to even on occasion them saying they are OK for the current week ... this in itself is reassuring that we only spend donations on what is required.
I july 21they were given notice to quit the building they occupied. Thery were offered new premises which were a shell and needed complete renovation and upgrading. I put a call out to several friends and family. We raised over 200,000 baht, and we're therefore able to help.
I oversaw the project skimming costs and negotiating where needed saving money, I also spend a week plus painting artwork on the walls to make it a happy bright space. Some things were added and the total spend rode to just over 250,000 baht.
There was then a grand opening attended by the mayor and the Governer, who helped secure a 30 year lease on new premises at what only be described as a peppercorn rent, guarantees our efforts are going to survive!
Since then up until today ... a kind soul bought their lunch of pizza and chicken wings, donations have continued at albeit a slower rate but has allowed us to continue the weekly food delivery and occasional upgrade purchase.
As of today, 703,835 has been raised!!!! In 2.5 years!!! Any help will allow us to continue with the support we provide and possibly allow us to extend our help to Baan Lung Pitaks sister operation at Holland house in Kathu.
I keep a separate thai account solely for the funds I am sent ... every baht given to me goes to helping these lovelies in memory of mum.

This is the charity we will be doing our next event for on December 12th we will have live music raffles and many sporting memorabilia and other things available for auction.
