Boom Bar

A friendly sports & social bar located in the up & coming Soi 94 area of Hua Hin. Open from 3pm to midnight daily.

Hours are flexible if there is an important sporting event being televised.

Today, Saturday 29th July, marks the last day of trading for Boom Bar and tonight we will close our doors permanently. We have sold the bar and will be moving out over the next couple of days and the new owners will take up residence on 1st August. Not sure exactly what their plans are, but I believe a coffee shop. Anyway, if you are not doing anything tonight, please come and have a farewell drink with us. We will be trading as normal and showing the cricket, AFL and rugby. We will be staying in Hua Hin, so if you can’t make it tonight, no doubt we will bump into you whilst we are out and about in the future. Many thanks to you all for you friendship, support and custom over the last 5 years.

SUNDAY 16TH JULY 2023 - BOOM'S BIRTHDAY PARTY

Dear friends.

On Sunday 16th July 2023, we will be celebrating Boom's birthday with a party at Boom Bar, from 6pm. There will be food provided and music, but we will also show the men's Wimbledon Final, without sound, on one of the outside TV's, for those who want to watch that as well.

Whilst we appreciate this is very late notice and our apologies for that, but if you get the opportunity, please pop in help Paewa and I wish her a happy birthday.

BOOM BAR AND RESTAURANT IS FOR SALE.

A well established Sports Bar, at the top of Soi 94, right on the 'T' junction. Popular with sports aficionados of most farang countries, we have 4 large screen TV's and we always strive to service the viewing wishes of all our customers, whether regular, or not.

We are also legally registered as a restaurant, but do not currently provide an in-house food service. The opportunity to explore this option would exist for any purchaser.

The bar consists of 2 areas, outside, under cover and inside, with 2 TV’s in each. This allows us to screen 4 separate events at the same time and provide live commentary on 2, neither of which interferes with the other.

We have a good 8’ pool table, with full unimpeded movement around it and currently have 6 pool teams playing out of the bar, in 4 different leagues and this provides another good income stream.

There is a good sized, Thai style, open kitchen at the rear, which is covered and one downstairs toilet shower area.

As the bar is in a townhouse, upstairs there are two good sized bedrooms with a bathroom in between. We use this as living accommodation, as we are not a ‘lady bar’, but equally the opportunity is there to utilise these rooms otherwise, if that's what you wish.

We are selling because, basically, we've got bored with it all. New owners will, I am sure, maintain and without doubt, increase the revenue.

Well it's a long time between posts and much water under the bridge.

Due to the ongoing COVID situation we have been closed for much of the last 2 years, but have struggled through and maybe come out the other end.

Through regulatory necessity, we have been obliged to become a restaurant to reopen, so have done so. We are now rebranded as Boom Bar & Restaurant, with a bright new logo and are open again for business.

Opening times are currently restricted by the authorities, so we have to close by midnight, but everything else remains the same and we are still one of the best places in Hua Hin to watch live sport on the TV, with sound and without the distraction of loud music, live bands, or voracious women.

I shall soon resume posting our weekly live TV sport program and with the EPL already well in progress, Super Rugby starting last weekend and the forthcoming F1, MotoGP, AFL and NRL seasons, hopefully we will get to see some of our old regular customers and friends and meet some new ones.

This was to do with supporting the Baan Unrak childrens home, in Sangkhlaburi and was a charity ride there organised by Siam Handlebar big bike shop in Hua Hin. Dear All.

Tomorrow, Saturday 22nd January, Steve will be celebrating his 60 something birthday.

Obviously, COVID has severely curtailed birthday celebrations in the past couple of years, but this year, at least, Boom Bar & Restaurant is allowed to open, so we are hoping that friends will come along for a socially distanced drink with him, during opening hours, which will be 12 noon to 9pm, or whenever the powers that be randomly decree that we have to close.

There will be some food provided, courtesy of Chef Boom and as usual, whatever sporting events are happening will be available for viewing, particularly the Australian Tennis Open and the EPL.

Sorry for the short notice, but in the current world one is never sure what is allowed from one day to another. We hope to see you tomorrow.
