Despite these challenging times. We all at Player wish each and everyone of you Happy Songkran.

We will be closed till 18th April as per the provincial governments directive. We will keep all you friends posted as and when we are able to resume business as normal.

For now we wish each and everyone of our friends to stay safe and healthy. We will all see through this and get our world back to together like how it should be again!!

We look foeward to seeing all of you soon!

Dear folks, we will be closing from 4th - 7th April. We will back on the 8th of April.

We will be only having our weekly special tommorow 3rd April 12noon - 12midnignt.

Due to it being a one day affair. We have decide to revisit another of our crowd favourite.

*** PLAYER DOUBLE WEEKLY SPECIAL ***

(Saturday 20th - Sunday 21st March 12 noon - 12 midnight)

This week we will try to crank it up a little by featuring 2 of our more popular dishes in a single weekend.

We did mention we won't be making our curry puffs again in the near future but owing to the constant requests from our loyal cusomters, we have decided to bring them back again but making them in limited quantity.

And our other featured dish this weekend will be our crowd favourite Hokkien Mee.

Please take note that our curry puffs are avaliable for dine-in only. We will also be making about 50 pieces on Saturday and Sunday each. Sorry folks no take away option please LOL...whilst stocks last!!

*** PLA-YER WEEKEND SPECIAL ***

Hello weekend!

We would have loved to satisfy all our loyal fans with new dishes each weekend. But due to overwhelming request from those whom have tried our laksa and those who missed that week's event. We caved in and have decided to bring back Nonya Laksa this weekend again.

For our Thai friends out there. This is the Singapore Nonya style equivalent of 'kanom jeen" or 'kao soi'. Our Singapore Nonya style laksa has a very rich texture made from our very own home made rempah( พริกแกง ). And to top it all off, a must in every Laksa is our super fresh cockles ( หอยแครง ).

For those that have persistently requested us to repeat this dish. You better come down this weekend. You know who you are LOL!!!!

After a week haitus during the Chinese New Year weekend.
Player is back this week with our weekly specials.

This week we introduce you all with another classic Singaporean dish known as Hainanese Curry Rice. Although as the name may suggest, the dish originates from Singapore and not Hainan Island, mainland China.

The signature of this dish is it's unappealing appearance which seems like a gooey mess. Like they always say "the messier the better" The flavours are a mesh between the the subtle curry along with the fragrance of 'babi pongteh' (the peranakan equivalent of 'lor bak')

Come on down this weekend to Player to savour this dish which is slowly disappearing from our local food scene. But we at Player will try to bring back some old memories from our distant past.

Trivia:
Hainanese curry rice developed during British colonial rule in Singapore. It was started by Hainanese living in Singapore, who were often employed by the British as well as the wealthy Peranakans (Straits-Chinese) as chefs in their homes. Pork chop was adapted from British cuisine and the rest of the ingredients, such as curry chicken, babi pongteh and chap chye, were from Peranakan cuisine.
