🇦🇺🇳🇿🏉 TO OUR AUSSIE & KIWI CUSTOMERS… THANK YOU, YOU ABSOLUTE ANIMALS. 🍻
With the AFL and NRL seasons now done and dusted, we thought it was only right to say a massive THANK YOU to all our Australian customers — and of course our Kiwi mates following the Warriors — who packed out The Welcome Inn throughout the season and the finals.
What a ride.
We’ve witnessed grown men scream at televisions.
We’ve seen perfectly sensible people suddenly become refereeing experts, tactical analysts and qualified coaches after three beers.
We’ve heard:
“THAT WAS FORWARD!”
“HE WAS NEVER OUT!”
“THE REF’S A BLOODY IDIOT!”
…and approximately 4,000 other carefully considered sporting observations. 😂
We’ve seen winners become unbearable within seconds.
We’ve seen losers suddenly remember they “never really cared that much anyway.”
We’ve watched lifelong friendships temporarily suspended over a dodgy call, a missed tackle or somebody supporting the wrong bloody team.
And somehow, every Aussie and Kiwi in the bar always knew better than the bloke actually coaching the side. 😂
There were beers.
There were snags.
There were steak baguettes.
There were finals.
There were arguments.
And there were enough opinions flying around the place to power Chiang Mai for a week.
A special mention too to our Warriors supporters 🇳🇿 — because being a Warriors fan sometimes requires loyalty, optimism, patience… and possibly counselling. 😂
But underneath all the piss-taking, rivalry and abuse shouted lovingly across the bar, one thing really stood out:
You lot have supported us brilliantly all season.
So from everyone at The Welcome Inn, a genuine massive thank you to all our Aussie and Kiwi mates for turning up, bringing the atmosphere and making the AFL and NRL seasons such a bloody good laugh.
We’ll miss the footy.
We’ll miss the finals.
We probably won’t miss being told the referee is corrupt every six minutes.
But we’ll miss you lot shouting about it. 😂🍻
As always, all the banter is meant in good fun.
Poms, Kiwis, Aussies… nobody is safe here.
