“Who’s choosing the music?”

This Saturday, it’s Crown Jules and Somchok.

Crown Jules spends his days doing whatever respectable adults are supposed to do.

But somewhere along the way, he built an absurdly good record collection.

Disco.

Funk.

Soul.

Boogie.

The kind of records that make you stop mid-conversation and ask,

“Wait… what is this?”

Then there’s Somchok.

Born in Germany.

Proud owner of a Thai name: สมโชค.

A vinyl enthusiast with a deep love for funk, soul, and boom bap.

Together, they’re bringing stacks of records, years of obsession, and absolutely zero interest in whatever TikTok thinks is cool this week.

Just warm beats.

Crackling vinyl.

Good drinks.

Good people.

Last Saturday, a French guy walked into LongLai.

He was already a little drunk.

Three gin & tonics later,

he was talking to everyone.

About music.

About life.

About France.

About his Vietnamese wife.

About almost getting punched in Thailand.

He talked a lot.

Like, a lot.

Somehow, by the end of the night,

everyone at the bar knew his life story.

He was funny.

A little chaotic.

Strangely lovable.

And then, in the middle of all this,

he started doing magic tricks.

Turns out he's a DJ too.

So this Friday,

we're letting him play.

Alongside 14Street._

Come understand his life.

Or at least laugh with us while he tries to explain it.

LongLai may not be the fanciest bar in town.

We're not luxurious.
We're not spacious.
And we're definitely not trying to be.

Truth is,

we're just a somewhat terrible bar in this neighborhood.

But if there's one thing we try to be,

it's real.

Of course we want your money.

We're a bar.

But honestly,

we want your friendship too.

We want to see strangers become friends.

We want people in love to know each other a little more.

And maybe, every now and then,

someone finds the love of their life.

Not because we were carefully crafting the perfect marketing strategy.

The guy making the poster was drunk.

The owner was also drunk.

Frankly, we’re lucky this got posted at all.

Anyway.

This Saturday.

A techno DJ from Russia.

Is she good?

We honestly have no idea.

That’s why we’re going.

YUKI, on the other hand, has been causing problems on dancefloors since the 2000s.

Tokyo underground.

Bangkok resident.

GOJA regular.

The man’s reputation arrived before the poster did.

So here’s the plan:

Show up.

Get a drink.

Meet some strangers.

Become friends with people you probably shouldn’t trust.

This is still the worst dive bar in the neighborhood.

The cocktails are moderately acceptable.

The music is usually too loud.

And our customers are deeply committed to buying shots for each other.
