Tonight’s highlight album is >>>, the third studio record from BEAK> Beak>, the Bristol group formed by Portishead’s Geoff Barrow.

Released in 2018, it was made by Barrow, Billy Fuller and Will Young. Its ten tracks combine motorik rhythms, analogue electronics, bass and guitar, keeping the repetition of the band’s earlier records while making more room for structured songs.”

Today we’re playing Les Jardins Mystiques Vol. 1 by Los Angeles composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist Miguel Atwood-Ferguson.

Known for his orchestral work with artists including Flying Lotus, Kamaal Williams and Bonobo, Atwood-Ferguson spent 14 years making this album. Released in 2023, it runs to 52 tracks and features musicians including Kamasi Washington, Thundercat, Jeff Parker, Carlos Niño, DOMi and JD Beck.

It’s a short week for us with Buddhist Holidays on Wednesday and Thursday.

Tonight we’re playing classic soul and jazz with Sam Cooke, Friday we’re on the opposite end of the spectrum with Psychedelic sounds from King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.

We’ll be playing the album in full one day before its official release, so you’ll get to experience it together with fellow fans before anyone else.

To celebrate the release, we’ll also revisit Phoebe’s first two albums before the main event.
