Unlike the dried spice many people know, fresh Siamese cardamom has its own distinctive aroma and flavour. It's one of the ingredients that gives Eastern Thai cooking its unique identity.

A bright, botanical cocktail with lychee liqueur, fresh lime juice, elderflower-rambutan syrup, orange, rambutan, thyme, Whitley Neill Rhubarb & Ginger Gin, and sweet vermouth. Refreshing, fragrant, and made for slow afternoons.

🍌 BANANARAMA
One of our most playful cocktails. Crafted with Nusa Cana rum, banana liqueur, roasted sticky rice, coconut shrub, a touch of saline, and finished with crispy sesame. Familiar Thai flavours, transformed into something unexpected.

“🇹🇭 Inspired by the Orient Express train, Burapa is a Michelin Bib-Gourmand brand from Chef Wongwich "Ack" Sripinyo and Nontawan "Taam" Chitwattanagorn, with a focus on Eastern Thai cuisine.

Here, we began with the Squid from Koh Chang, which were dainty bites with a hint of sweetness from a Thai-fermented rice sauce; while the Grilled Tiger Prawns were flame-kissed catches that was fragrant and succulent. The Rawang curry followed with our chicken rendition being rich and creamy; while the Wagyu Crying Tiger Rice Bowl was a true winner with its tender meats, hint of sweetness, all topped with a runny egg and punchy fried garlic.

With a name that translates to the word "East" in Thai, Burapa is a beautifully-rendered locomotive inspired by the iconic train; serving as a charming yet casual award winner that truly transport our palates to a delicious region of eastern Siam.”

“Skint and starving by midday? Burapa’s new lunch set has you covered.
The eastern-Thai spot on Sukhumvit 11 lays on a daily set menu from 11am-2pm, and at B550 a head, or B530 if you’re going veggie, you get a full sweep of eastern-Thai cooking, plated with a glossy modern finish but rooted firmly in the flavours of Thailand’s coastal provinces.

Each set draws on the cooking of Thailand’s eastern provinces, plated with a modern touch. Take your pick from rice topped with fried seabass and assorted condiments, served with Siamese cardamom chicken soup and pickled papaya salad; Trat’s pad thai with a grilled giant tiger prawn and crispy lemongrass chicken wings; railway fried rice with grilled red chicken, chicken rawang curry and a pork jowl cucumber salad; a shrimp creamy omelette over rice; or eastern spicy crab fried rice with a clear seabass tom yum. Veggie diners get fried tofu with Siamese cardamom mushroom soup or a Trat-style pad thai with crispy mushroom and fried spring rolls.

Fancy a tipple? The drink and snack pairing (B380, daily midday-2.30pm and 5pm-7pm) bags you one cocktail and one small bite. The cocktail list pulls from the full moon bussaba series – the quince, honey-ginger and pomegranate numbers are all worth a punt – or you can stick to the classics.

To nibble, take your pick from crispy three-flavour chicken with prawn crackers, grilled pork jowl yum yai salad or fried beef tongue naem. It’s a neat little set-up whether you’re rounding off lunch or easing your way towards an early evening.”
