HELP....the Bangkok International Softball Leauge desperately needs your help. Do you know of members of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club....the Polo Club was the home base for the BISL for over 10 years. Last year we lost our field space due to an administrative oversight where we missed a board meeting and were not represented. Consequently RBSC dissolved the Softball Division. We are trying to get reinstated for the coming year. We have a petition in at the Membership counter of the main RBSC building on Henri Durant Road, and need to get 50 members to to sign it this week. If you know a member, or your friends know a member could you ask them to stop off at the membership office and sign our petition. MANY THANKS. Below is essentially what the petition says..
*******************************************************
I respectfully submit this petition to consider reinstating the Softball Section which was dissolved by the General Committee as of Sept 1, 2011 as per notice GM-029/2011 dated July 20, 2011. The purpose of this request is so that RBSC can enter a team in the Bangkok International Softball League (BISL) for the upcoming 2012-2013 season. Previously the Softball Section was in place for over 10 years, and RBSC was the League Champion in the 2011 season. I was the previous Chairman of the Section and with the birth of my first child and additional work responsibilities I opted to step down in 2011 and the team couldn’t find a replacement in time to make the AGM and thus with no representation at the meeting the General Committee rightfully so dissolved the section. There is now members willing to take on this role and thus our desire to see the Section reinstated and the RBSC team once again participate in the BISL League.
One of BISL’s goals is to give back to local communities in Thailand. This is done through donations and fund raising to aid communities in need after disasters, to support underprivileged children and to promote youth softball and baseball. Over the past decade, BISL, with strong participation from the Royal Bangkok Sports Club softball club, have provided support to: help communities recover from the Asian tsunami and other disasters; the Baan Dek Orphanage in Saraburi and the Abundant Life Home in Chonburi; and the Bangkok Baseball and Softball Association. Additional support was given to assist the victims of cyclone Nargis in Myanmar and the entire league has and will remain committed to supporting the Annual RBSC Family Day and it’s associated charities.
