Veterans Bar Pattaya

Veterans Bar Pattaya Great atmosphere and good prices. Although “Veterans Bar” is designed to welcome ex and serving personnel, everyone will be warmly welcomed.

We are 2 British nationals who have moved to Pattaya, after spending many years living in Hua Hin and have recently acquired a bar in Soi 13/2 Pattaya and have renamed it “Veterans Bar” with the intention of welcoming all ex and serving personnel. Once a month we will be commemorating historical military events and organising charitable events. 25% of all profits from these charitable events will

be donated to organisations supporting ex and serving personnel, also we will donate to the less privileged in the Pattaya area, such as homeless children and special need schools. We have contacted numerous charitable military organisations from many nations to ask for their support and association and every 2 months 10% of all our profits will be donated to one of the 6 charitable organisations* as well as the monthly events we will hold.
* Help for Heroes -Veterans Foundation -Amvets (USA) -SSAFA (UK) -RSL Australia and the Father Ray Foundation Pattaya (Special needs school). In Pattaya and the surrounding areas there is a large contingent of ex-servicemen and at “Veterans Bar” we aim to provide a comfortable and familiar surrounding for them. We at the “Veterans Bar”, would like to invite all ex and serving personnel to bring Cap Badges, Unit Shields and other military memorabilia, which we will proudly display in our bar. Hope to see you soon. Kindest Regards
Robert and Nigel.

King George VI inspects firemen at Lambeth HQ, October 1940. London's firemen were in the front line during The Blitz. London was constantly bombed between September 1940 and May 1941, and the capital's firemen struggled to contain fires caused by incendiary devices. More than 20,000 Londoners were killed during this period, and 1.4 million were bombed out of their homes.

🎖️A heroic former Royal Marine, Brad 'Bugsy' Malone, has sold his Conspicuous Gallantry Cross for a world record £160,000 to finance the building of a retreat for veterans in the Scottish highlands.

He was given the cross - only one of 60 awarded - for his courageous involvement on three separate occasions in Helmand Province when he was section commander with the 45 Commando Royal Marines. He has now decided to sell his cross to fund his plans for a veteran healing project.❤️

Today we remember the loss of Bob Hope in 2003.

Born in England, raised in Ohio, Bob Hope originally got in to show business doing vaudevillian and comedic work. His midwestern work ethic pushed him into stand-up comedy, Broadway, films, and song. Hope’s unique style of dance brought joy to millions and the ability to do it all arguably made Bob Hope a man worth remembering. However, what set him apart and established his legacy was his commitment to the military men and women who served overseas. Hope’s unwavering support for the troops earned him the unique privilege of being named an “Honorary Veteran” by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. https://www.vvmf.org/topics/Bob-Hope/

🇬🇧 Sir Michael Caine joined his fellow Korean War veterans in a service marking 70 years since the ceasefire!

The 90-year-old fought in Korea as part of 1st Battalion the Royal Fusiliers in 1952, when he was only 19 years old. A year later, he was sent home from the front as he suffered from malaria.

We remember all of those who served in the Korean War. Lest we forget. 🌺

Nicholas Alkemade - The Flight Sergeant who fell 18,000 Feet Without A Parachute and Survived😲

Alkemade trained as an Air Gunner and was part of the crew on 'Werewolf', a Lancaster Mk II, who were tasked with raiding Berlin on the night of 24/25 March 1944. They successfully delivered their payload, but upon the return journey, heavy winds took them off course, where they were attacked from below by a German night-fighter aircraft. This damaged Werewolf's wing and fuselage, and the plane set on fire.

The pilot ordered the crew to grab their parachutes in preparation for an emergency exit. However, Alkemade realised his parachute had set alight, leaving him with the decision to stay in the burning aircraft or jump. Alkemade chose to jump - and amazingly woke up three hours later lying in deep snow. After falling from 18,000 ft at a rate of 120mph, it seemed the pine trees had slowed his descent, and the snow cushioned his fall, leaving him with only a sprained knee.

What an incredible story. Lest We Forget🌺
