2017 Château Meyney is a beautifully balanced Saint-Estèphe shaped by a challenging vintage. Founded in the 13th century by Cistercian monks, Château Meyney is one of the oldest historic estates in the Médoc, known for producing classic Left Bank Bordeaux with depth and elegance.

The 2017 season saw severe spring frost followed by a contrasting summer, but September rains restored freshness and harmony to the fruit. The final blend — 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, and 11% Petit Verdot — was aged 18 months in French oak barrels.

In the glass, it shows aromas of blackcurrant, dark plum, cedar, to***co, and subtle spice. The palate is refined yet structured, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, elegant finish.

Markus Molitor took over his family winery in the mid-1980s, aiming to revive the golden era of Mosel Riesling through site-specific, age-worthy wines.

The winery's philosophy emphasizes meticulous manual work, rigorous selection of grapes, and respect for the natural products to express the full potential of each site and vintage.

Wines are traditionally fermented spontaneously and matured in wooden barrels in a slate cellar, allowing for slow, natural fermentation and development of depth and elegance.
