Before you step inside, the Kabuki artwork beside Shukuu gives the first hint of the mood within.

Kabuki is one of Japan’s traditional theatre forms, known for its painted expressions and stylised movement. Its strong visual presence has a way of drawing you in, much like the entrance to a small izakaya tucked along a Tokyo street.
