For 14 years, Sathya has called Singapore his second home. As a dedicated Public Area Attendant at Sofitel Singapore City Centre, he takes pride in creating welcoming spaces for our guests each day.
When he first arrived from India, his daughter was only six months old. Leaving behind his wife and little girl was never easy, but he made the difficult decision to work abroad so he could provide his family with a brighter future and support his daughter’s education.
Despite the distance, family remains at the centre of everything he does. Daily video calls have become a cherished ritual over the years. As a loving father to his little princess, Sathya still makes it a point to hear about her day, know her whereabouts and remind her to seek his permission before heading out with friends.
From Singapore, he celebrates birthdays from afar by arranging thoughtful surprises for his wife and daughter, sending gifts and love across the miles. Yet, the moments he treasures most are the precious annual trips home, reunions filled with warmth, laughter and the joy of simply being together again.
This Father’s Day, we celebrate Sathya and fathers everywhere whose love, sacrifice and dedication transcend distance, all in pursuit of a better future for the ones they hold closest to their hearts.
