Stained-glass Tiffany-style shades hang over almost every table, throwing amber and rose light across the walls. It's the glow of an old shophouse parlour, and the reason everyone looks good up here.

No two are alike. Each is an antique with its own carved panel set under glass, picked one by one so every corner of the room has its own character. Put your drink down on a piece of history. Gently.

The same review called us "the first speakeasy in the east", and we're still proud of that. The tiles are a little piece of Katong set into the bar itself. The wh**ky shelf behind it crosses a few more borders.

Now imagine it all to yourselves. Take over the whole shophouse speakeasy for your year-end party: Tiffany lamps, chesterfields, antique tables, and a bar wrapped in Peranakan tiles. "True to its name, The Hidden Story really is hidden." ~ SETHLUI.com

The story starts at the back of Stirling Steaks: a heavy freezer door, a narrow staircase, a curtain. Then the noise of East Coast Road drops away and you're standing in a shophouse room that feels decades older than it is.

That moment at the top of the stairs is the reason we built this place.
