The historical merging of cultures is the inspiration behind the Spinosa as it evokes the rich history of the New World. As one of the world’s most important sugar producers, Cuba was deeply influenced by both the Italian legacy of Christopher Columbus and the
colonizing efforts of the Spanish and the British. The ingredients of the Spinosa reflect that legacy, representing the complex, vibrant,
and independent spirit forged out of those encounters. The cocktail’s name is derived from the Latin name of one of its ingredients, *Prunus Spinosa*, commonly known as Sloe. Sloe gin provides tartness, berry tones, and the engaging copper color. The core of the Spinosa however, is comprised of Bacardi Carta Blanca, whose aromatic impressions of citrus and vanilla get enhanced through Amaro Montenegro´s bitter-sweet herbal notes. The simplicity of the Spinosa ensures it can be replicated in all four corners of the earth. Its depth of flavor makes it a true legacy.
