Sultry and cool, Carmen is a gender-swapped Film Noir fantasy. Step into a world of drama, tension, s*x and intrigue, where the struggle between good and evil is real and personal.

Tere päevast, improvisers!

🤓 Meet the 2nd team of Matryoshka online, Cider improv from St. Petersburg, Russia.
They will perform “Stereotypes” and here’s what it is:

🐣 Stereotypes is a collection of sketches and stories where we explore how we perceive the world around us and ourselves in it. In this format we blend in the stereotypes that not always come hand in hand. In doing so, we get a closer understanding what these "common" stereotypes say about us.

The actors will ask you a few suggestions, something that comes up when you think of a certain group of people or a country, and will build characters and stories on that.

Join us on July 25 to have fun and explore the world around you through improv. Promise you’ll have a great time in the safe and cozy ambiance of your apartment.

Konnichi wa, improvisers!
July 25 is coming really soon, which means it’s time to get to know our amazing teams. Let’s start with The Ministry of Unplanned Occurrences (UK).

🤓 They are a theatre company based in Cambridge, UK. They create playful and have intriguing characters and enjoy the liveness and the possibilities that open up when improvising.

At Matryoshka online they will perform "The Apartment". Here’s how they describe it:

🏠“Whether you share an apartment with a bathroom hog, a late-night DJ, or bread thief, living with other people can be a joy and a challenge, especially in a pandemic... join us for a room-based improvised comedy drama where we show the ups and downs of sharing a living space”

Ooooh guys, why couldn’t we watch it 3 months ago when we all were on the brink of divorce? Just kidding, it’s relevant in any times. Can’t wait to watch “The Apartment” from our apartment (insert stupid laughter here).

Ciao, improvisers!
Welcome the last instructor of Matryoshka online, an outstanding Russian improviser Sergey Zakatov.

🤓 Sergey started scene acting back in 2005 and since 2013 he’s been working as a professional theater and film actor. He is a member of the famous Moscow improv troupe Total Nutz. Awardee of multiple international theatre and vocal festivals, Sergey received a prestigious Golden Mask award in 2015.
😵 At the “Michael Chekhov’s Technique: Imaginary Center” workshop Sergey will teach us how to create solid and colorful characters using Clint Eastwood’s favorite acting tool.

Boom, time to know more about Matryoshka online’s instructors.
Meet our good friend from Argentina, Omar Galvan.

✌️ Omar is one of the main references of the Spanish Improv scene. His work is characterized by a particular poetical scene, a blend of magical realism and theatrical narrative which are resources not often used in Impro theater, like Soundpainting. Omar is also the author of the book ‘From the jump to the fly. Impro Handbook’ and has worked in 35 countries on 5 continents with his Improtour.

Buenos días, improvisers!

July 25 is less than a week away, which means it’s time to get to know the instructors of Matryoshka online. Let’s start with the amazing Lena Breuer:

👩‍🏫 Lena studied acting and journalism and lost her heart to improv 10 years ago. She is the founder of Impro Köln, a professional improv company in Cologne (Germany) and the Impro Fest Online, the first ever online improv festival, created in times of the Corona Pandemic.
Lena has been teaching and performing in Germany and all over Europe at multiple international festivals.

Besides being a very experienced improviser and instructor, Lena is a very positive and open-hearted person.
🧘That’s why at Matryoshka online she is going to teach a workshop ‘How to be a super happy improviser’. We will learn how to create solid scenes without conflict and fights.
