În 2013 am pus piatra de temelie a ceea ce poate fi unul din cele mai importante evenimente culturale din această parte a Europei, parte a efortului de a obţine titlul de Capitală Europeană a Culturii 2021. JAMzz no. 4 brings us back to our friends at Aether: the place everyone meets during the day and ends up dancing in by night.

On the decks: Kamar.

Palestinian/British DJ, record collector and musical archivist, Kamar explores hidden dance music of the diaspora, drawing inspiration from London’s cultural diversity as well as sounds from Latin America, the Middle East and South Asia.

A resident at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM, where he hosts the monthly show Tealeave, Kamar builds sets that move naturally through dub, jazz, percussion, deep house, broken beat and boogie, connecting rhythms, textures and sounds from across the world into one fluid journey.

Kamar’s name, based off the Arabic ‘Qamar’, which means moonlight, reflects his diverse heritage and the feeling that many places have felt like home. To this effect, his life’s experience has seen him leave his home of London to travel extensively with an ethnomusicological focus across Latin America, the Middle East and South Asia, as well as live in Cape Town and Lisbon.

Over the years, he has played festivals such as Glastonbury, We Out Here and Love Supreme, while also appearing on NTS, Rinse FM and My Analog Journal.

We’ll dance it out together on June 26th from 22:30 at Aether.

JAMzz no. 3 and we’re still counting.

For this one, we’re crashing AMBASADA’s Saturday brunch because good music, community and delicious dishes just go so well together.

On the decks: Rhys Baker.

Rhys Baker is Label Manager at the award-winning Brighton (UK) independent record label Tru Thoughts and its publishing wing Full Thought Publishing. As a music enthusiast, his diverse DJ sets have seen him perform at festivals including We Out Here, Love Supreme, Shambala and Brick Lane Jazz Festival, while also hosting radio shows on Noods, Voices Radio and Worldwide FM.

Expect a selection shaped by years spent around jazz, soul, electronic music and sounds from all across the spectrum.

For this JAMzz party, we’re teaming up with our friends from Launmomentdat în parc - jazzing things up for one special night at the Vinyl Stage and slowly warming up for JAZZx.

On the decks: Yadava.

DJ, producer and co-founder of Manchester’s long-running club night So Flute and the label/community platform All Kinds Of Joy, Yadava moves effortlessly between jazz, gospel, disco, house and everything in between.

Through his DJ sets, productions and NTS Radio show alongside Contours, he explores deep jazz-influenced and electronic sounds pulled straight from his record collection. His music has been released through labels like Church, Omena and Tru Thoughts, with support from Gilles Peterson, Moxie and Osunlade.

As a DJ, he has shared stages with artists such as Floating Points, Ge-ology, Sadar Bahar and Hailu Mergia, while also appearing at festivals like We Out Here.

JAMzz is getting us ready for the festival season ahead, one dancefloor at a time.

JAMzz is back! The series that slowly warms the city up for the Main Festival.

We like keeping traditions alive, so we’re kicking things off with a listening sesh by Krisz: jazz, funk, and sounds from all over the world. As she says, some music is just good for the ears and amazing for the soul.

So come start the Timișoara tour with us at OneTwo Room 2, from 20:00. Expect easy grooves, good people, and that perfect pre-festival energy.

And because no summer session is complete without something cold in hand, we’re also bringing the liquid jazz: the JAZZx beer by OneTwo: a crisp German Lager made for warm nights and slow dancing.

JAZZx Breaks a trecut prin primele ateliere, iar energia din școli a fost exact așa cm ne-am imaginat-o: multă curiozitate, ritm și bucuria de a descoperi muzica împreună.

În ultimele săptămâni, JAZZx a ajuns în 4 școli din Timișoara prin ateliere de percuție, producție muzicală, contrabas și chitară bas. Pentru mulți dintre copii a fost prima interacțiune cu un instrument muzical sau prima dată când au descoperit cm se construiește muzica din spatele unui beat.

Rezultatul? O mulțime de copii care au experimentat, au pus întrebări, au cântat împreună și au transformat totul într-un super jam session plin de energie și spontaneitate.

Prin JAZZx Breaks, 20 de școli din Timișoara devin spații de explorare creativă, unde elevii învață prin experiență directă, alături de artiști și mentori.

JAZZx Breaks este un proiect dezvoltat de Lab for Skills, derulat în parteneriat cu Administrația pentru Sănătate și Educație a Municipiului Timișoara - Direcția Educație ( ), și .

Psihotrop turns words into rhythm, ideas into dialogue and hip-hop into something far bigger than a genre.

Known through the viral phenomenon “Mihai predă”, he reimagined Romanian literature for a new generation by transforming Bacalaureat texts into rap tracks that made poetry, storytelling and social commentary feel immediate, relevant and alive. What started as an educational project quickly grew into one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Romanian hip-hop.

Built around sharp wordplay, social themes and a constant connection with the audience, his performances move between concert, storytelling session and live conversation, creating a space where music becomes a way of understanding the world around us.

Ella Frears writes poetry that captures the strange beauty, awkwardness and emotional texture of contemporary life with remarkable precision.

Originally from Cornwall and now based in London, her work blends direct observation with a sharp, unmistakably modern sensibility that has made her one of the distinctive voices in contemporary British poetry. Through books like Shine, Darling and Goodlord, Ella turns everyday moments into something cinematic, funny, vulnerable and deeply recognizable.

Testament doesn’t really fit into one category and that’s exactly what makes his work hit so hard.

Writer, rapper, beatboxer and Guinness World Record holder, the West Yorkshire artist moves effortlessly between theatre, poetry, radio and film, building performances that are rhythmic, sharp and impossible to box into a single form. From stages like Royal Court Theatre, Shakespeare’s Globe and Leeds Playhouse to projects with Netflix, Disney+ and BBC, his voice carries across worlds while staying deeply rooted in live storytelling.
