Green Hours is the „oldest” jazz café - and probably the most respected independent theatre - in Romania. Since 1994, every week, our club hosts jazz, blues, electric, alternative music evenings and, since 1997, besides all that, theatrical shows (off-off Broadway kind of...). Jazz

and blues concerts in Green Hours brought on stage, in front of a fine and devoted public, representative Romanian names as: Johnny Răducanu, Harry Tavitian, A.G. and important musicians from all over the world: Nik Baertsch’ Ronin, Jurg Solothurnmann (Switzerland), Ferdi Schukking (Netherlands), Astillero (Mexico), Leszek Mozdzer, Marcin Wassilievsky, Paweł Kaczmarczyk (Poland), Zohar Fresco, Omer Klein Quartet and Harold Rubin Quartet (Israel), Mat Maneri, Alex Harding, Chris Toffield, Steve Clarke, Brad Jones, Sam Newsome, (all from USA), Wolfgang Muthspiel, Ulrich Drechsler (Austria), Nils Petter Molvaer, Christian Wallumrød (Norway), Phronesis (DK-UK), Lars Danielsson (Sweden) etc…etc. Green Records (the only record label born in a club) is an independent jazz & alternative music label running at Green Hours jazz-café since 1998, aiming and contributing to the larger jazz & quality music acceptance and ultimately at getting recognition for it from both the public and the musical market. The first Green Records production – the album “CHANGES - live at Green Hours” was in the same time the first jazz album recorded live in Romania. Since then, we have produced (till 2020), another 18 albums… and we try to keep on walking…

Since 2008, Green Hours has initiated the first and only international festival in a Romanian club: Green Hours JAZZ Fest. We've managed to keep on going its XII-th (& pandemic) edition in September 2020, together with our 27th Anniversary. 💚 Day 4 of GHJFest closes this year's festival with two projects form Austria and Germany that embody the creativity, elegance and exploratory spirit of Central European jazz.

𝐒𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐊𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐆 [AT]

Amina Bouroyen - vocals
Robin Gadermaier - e-bass, foot organ
Robert Unterköfler - saxophone

With a lineup of voice/saxophone/bass, the Vienna-based trio slowklang creates unorthodox, decelerated soundscapes that exist between song form and advanced improvisation. Improvisation meets atmospheric sounds, spontaneity meets emotionality.

“Three exciting young talents of Austrian jazz (...), they sharpen their profile in a distinctive way with the trio's original music.“
— Ö1 Jazz editorial team

𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐀𝐒 𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐘𝐑 / 𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐈𝐒 𝐆𝐀𝐋𝐋 [DE]

Matthias Lindermayr - trumpet
Chris Gall - piano

“...Matthias Lindermayr possesses one of the most mature, structured, and relaxed trumpet tones that has emerged in Germany in recent years.”
(Jazzthetik)

“Chris Gall provides evidence that jazz is alive and kicking in Germany.”

💚 Day 3 of GHJFest is dedicated to the adventurous spirit of contemporary Italian jazz, bringingtogether two remarkable projects united by one of Europe’s most celebrated pianists: Giovanni
Guidi.

🎹 𝐆𝐈𝐎𝐕𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐈 𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐃𝐈 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐨 [IT]

Giovanni Guidi - piano
Joe Rehmer - bass
Enrico Morello - drums

”Thanks to Joe and Enrico, I start from my repertoire to move towards more intense sounds andrhythms, with a nod to Alice Coltrane.
Joe Rehmer (bass) and Enrico Morello (drums) are two travel companions with whom I have
shared many adventures and audiences. This new trio is a way for me to explore a new
freedom, starting from my catalogue to move towards more intense sounds and rhythms, with a
nod to Alice Coltrane. The trio, after a first tour in South Africa and Namibia in May 2024, has
developed both in the version with acoustic piano and with Wurlitzer, adapting to very different
locations and moods.” Giovanni Guidi

🎷 𝐅𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐎 𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐙𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐈 / 𝐆𝐈𝐎𝐕𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐈 𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐃𝐈 [IT]

Francesco Bearzatti - saxophone
Giovanni Guidi - piano

Narrator and Innovator, everywhere a foreigner and yet profoundly Italian, a jazz musician
irresistibly attracted to revolutionary processes in his eternal search for creating, Francesco
Bearzatti is returning to Green Hours, second year in a row, this time presenting an incredible
and poetic duo with Giovanni Guidi.

Are un glas fără pereche.

💚 Day 2 of GHJFest brings together two remarkable projects redefining the language of
contemporary European jazz.

𝐏𝐀́𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐙𝐊𝐘 𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐓 [HU] explores the meeting point between jazz, contemporary classical
music and Hungarian folk traditions through bold reinterpretations of Béla Bartók’s work. It also
creates an immersive and modern soundscape where chamber jazz, improvisation and Eastern
European musical heritage coexist naturally.

András Párniczky - guitar
Péter Bede - alto saxophone, tárogató (Hungarian flute)
Péter Ajtai - double bass
Ágoston Szabó-Sipos - drums

With the support of Liszt Intézet BUCUREȘTI

𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐓𝐎𝐈𝐒 / 𝐑𝐎𝐁𝐈𝐍 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐊𝐄𝐑 / 𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐄𝐋 𝐄𝐑𝐃𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐍 [FR]
𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐋𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒

After more than a decade of collaboration, countless concerts across Europe and five acclaimed
albums, the trio continues to shape a deeply personal musical language: lyrical, adventurous
and profoundly connected.

Their latest project, Lines for Lions, revisits the spirit of West-Coast jazz through the trio’s
unmistakable chemistry, blending memory, freedom and subtle emotional intensity into a
singular live experience.
