Well The Jacaranda is now all s***k and span ,the painting and cleaning is all done and we are now ready to open on monday 2nd. Feb. for the 2026 season, we had a very nice winter break and are now well rested and ready to start work tomorrow. when I last posted I commented on how much rain we had been having ,well it is still raining a month later and does not look likely to stop in the near future .We have been very lucky that in the main it has been gentle stuff so we so far have avoided flooding ,but the reservoirs are now nearly all full.
We hope to see some of you regulars back at some time during the season ,so until then I wish everyone good health and lots of luck.

This winter at last we are getting our fair share of rain,it has been plentiful, and fortunately is has been of ,if there such a thing as pleasant rain ,the gentle variety which soak slowly into te ground and slowly is filling up our reservoirs which is very welcome , I believe we now have enough water for at least four more years and there is still more to come .It has not been all bad ther have still ben plenty of warm sunny days to keep our spirits up.
Today of course is the winter solstice always a welcome time evenn though its the first day winter we still have the longer days to look forward too.
The Jacaranda is cosed at the moment for our winter break but plan to open around the first week of February for the coming season, hope to some of our regular customers back again next year. In the mean time I wish you all the very best of festive cheer,and very merry Christmas and a Happy peaceful and above all healthy New Year.

Not only is it Halloween tonight it is also the last night of the Jacaranda for this season . We will now be closed fro tomorrow 1rst.Nov until Feb 1st.next yea. I would like to thank all our clients for your custom ,we hope we gave you good food and friendly service we are always trying to improve.
This week has been a school holiday and unfortunately the weatherbhas ben behaving badly ,lot of cloud ,some sunny spells and one day of rain, not what you want for the beach with children, althouh the temperature has been about 23 degrees most days and the se has been quite wild which has been good for young body boarders. Next week things are set to improve ,so anyone wishing to come out for a winter break should have good weather.

From today Feb 3rd. ,The jacaranda is open for the 2025 season. It was a lovely sunny day although at little cool at the start ,a very pleasant introduction to the new season. We hope to be open from now until November and our weekly closing day will be on a Sunday. hope to see many of our regulars back again.

I always enjoy the winter solstice with its promise of longer days ,and today was especially good as the sun shone from dawn till dusk with not a cloud in the sky and although there was a cool breeze from the north east , ,if you found a sheltered spot it was a least 22 degrees. the weather forcast for the coming week is for more of the same , so any one planning a winter break should have good weather.
The Jacaranda is still closed for our winter break ,but we plan to open on the 1st. of Febuary .
Seasons greeting to all ,a merry Christmas and of course a very happy and healthy New Year.

The Jacaranda restaurant is now closed for our annual break. Winter is fast approaching and the nights are drawing in , so like the bears its time for us to hibernate. I would like to thank all who visited us this season and a special thanks
to our regulars who have been supporting us for years.
We hope to reopen on February 1st. next year.

The Jacaranda is up and running again after our winter break everything is s***k and span and we are well rested , ready for what we hope will be a busy season . This year we will be closing on Sunday , if there is any change I will post on this site .

All,s well in the Algarve I,m happy to say, unfortunately that , not true of a lot of places in the world just now ,but as always at the start of a New year one has hope for some improvement in the . coming moths .So I wish everyone a very healthy and Happy New Year .

Well that,s it the shortest day of the year is now over and what a glorious day it was here in the Algarve , sun shining from dawn to dusk with not a cloud in the sky 20 degrees at 1pm. plenty of people on the beach at praia do vau sun bathing and a few hardy souls swimming in the sea which was about 17 degrees. the weather forecast is good for the next week if anybody is thinking of coming.
I would like to wish all our customers a very happy and healthy festive season ,lots of good cheer and
not to many hangovers.

The Jacaranda has been closed since the 1st. of Nov. and will stay closed until the 1 st. Feb. next year. Its our annual winter break so everything is now cleaned painted and stacked away ready for next season.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who visited us this season and a special thanks to those regulars who have been supporting us for years.
It has been a wet start to Autumn this year and for the locals has been very welcome ,not so of course for those taking a late break and also the school half term holidays.

From tomorrow Wednesday May 3 rd. The Jacaranda will be closed every Wednesday until the end of the season at the beginning of November, some rest and recuperation for our hard working staff. We do hope it does not cause any of our valued customers any inconvenience and we do hope to see many of you back this year. The weather is great at the moment and the sea temperature is very pleasant for a dip.

As of today monday 16th. jan the Jacaranda is open again after our winterbreak . the restaurant is all s***k and span and we are all jabbed upagainst the dreaded covid , so we hope to see lots of our regulars back again this coming season . Wishing you all very good health and plenty of good luck.
