Happy Harvest 2025!
It’s only the 2nd year of growth for the Quinta da Lila vineyard, so these baby vines aren’t producing quite enough grapes yet to make commercial Ceiceira wines. However, there was still plenty of picking to be done, fun times had, and memories made harvesting these hearty varieties. Our hands were stained, and our hearts were full.

É apenas o segundo ano de crescimento da vinha da Quinta da Lila, por isso estas videiras jovens ainda não produzem uvas suficientes para fazer vinhos Ceiceira comerciais. No entanto, ainda havia muito para colher, momentos divertidos para viver e memórias para criar com a colheita destas variedades vigorosas. As nossas mãos ficaram manchadas e os nossos corações ficaram cheios.

It is a somewhat tragic end to the year at Ceiceira. On Saturday we lost our most beloved cat Cece, who was hit by a car. We adopted her after she gave birth to a litter of kittens outside the restaurant three years ago. Customers may remember her as the beautiful little calico cat who would flip and flop on the ground in front of the restaurant. Her favourite thing would be to follow Chris as he did jobs around the restaurant. Halloween and Christmas were her most favourite times of the year; watching Chris put up the decorations. We are utterly devastated. For us, the restaurant won’t quite feel the same again. It is a poignant reminder to cherish every second you have with your loved ones. We wish you all a happy New Year and a safe 2025.

It’s three sleeps before Christmas but only one sleep before Ceiceira’s winter break starts. Come close out the season with us tomorrow evening. We’ll have our festive specials plus all your favorites from our regular menu. We look forward to sharing the holidays with you. ###

We love sharing the holidays and some of our favorite traditional treats with y’all! We have some amazing specials for you this year, such as our homemade fudge, pumpkin poke cake, clam chowder, maple braised turkey, and bacon jam & whipped goat cheese croquettes topped with jalapeño jam. You’ll love our Jack Frost coconut cocktail, or get warm and cozy with homemade mulled wine and mulled cider. As always, we have plenty of delicious gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options.

Our last dinner of the season is on Monday, 23 December, before we close for a winter break. Enjoy a festive feast with family and friends, or visit us at our booth at the Monchique Christmas Market, open daily from 13-22 December, 11 am - 7 pm. We’ll be offering free wine tastings to get you all set for hosting for the holidays.

Adoramos partilhar as festas de fim de ano e algumas das nossas iguarias tradicionais favoritas com todos vós! Este ano, temos algumas especialidades fantásticas para ti, como o nosso fudge caseiro, o bolo de abóbora, a sopa de amêijoas, o peru braseado com ácer e os croquetes de queijo de cabra com compota de jalapeño. Vais adorar o nosso cocktail de coco Jack Frost, ou aquecer-te e aconchegar-te com vinho quente caseiro e cidra quente. Como sempre, temos muitas opções deliciosas sem glúten, vegetarianas e veganas.

O nosso último jantar da época é na segunda-feira, 23 de dezembro, antes de fecharmos para as férias de inverno. Desfruta de um banquete festivo com a família e amigos, ou visita-nos no nosso stand no Mercado de Natal de Monchique, aberto diariamente de 13 a 22 de dezembro, das 11 às 19 horas. Ofereceremos provas de vinho gratuitas para que te prepares para receber as férias.
