Austrian David Helbock is a globetrotting jazz pianist and composer with a unique story.

He has performed in nearly every corner of the world. Years ago, he played in Kuala Lumpur at the legendary No Black Tie, invited by Evelyn Hii, who built a jazz empire with the best names in the industry.

Now, she’s bringing David`s talent to Lisbon; where he will play alongside Julia Hofer (electric bass & cello).

A new jazz platform is born with the inaugural event organised by No Black Tie, who present Jazz Piano Trio at Brown's Avenida Hotel, Lisbon on Thursday, 15 December 2022.

The intimate and elegant Honesty Bar lends itself well to the occasion with its warm ambience and acoustics. Oscar Peterson attributes the enduring appeal of jazz as a musical language to a simple word: honesty. "I think when a musician plays jazz, you're hearing the honest insides of that person..."
It was certainly an honestly electrifying evening filled with spontaneity, playfulness and sheer joy of music from award-winning Swiss pianist, Gabriel Zufferey and his Portuguese collaborators, Carlos Barretto on bass and Alex Frazão on drums, celebrating jazz greats such as Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Theolonius Monk, Dave Brubeck and Chick Corea.

A series of jazz soirées are planned in the New Year, with the next edition on January 26.
