A lovely day again over here. The sun has been on my balcony since before 8.30AM. I noticed that I still have OKRA and Chillies growing, plus Capsicum, so I cant cut them down yet. Planted some more Garlic and Ginger. Got more tubs ready for the sweet corn next year. Might give Strawberries a miss this year. It has been too hot for them this year. Tomatoes were a disaster, as the flowers just dried up. We had some unexpected rain on Sunday. I normally just sleep on top of the bed, ( Dont try to imagine it. You will have nightmares ) but on Tuesday morning. 5.00 am. I had to put a sheet over myself, it was a bit chilly.
The quiz will be at normal time, Friday 8.00 pm Remember , my team was in third place last week. We have been reading cornflake boxes to gain more knowledge. We are on a roll. It could get a bit cool, so bring a light carddy or summat.
Sunday Roast Dinners continue to go fast. All booked dinners were served and a few who walked in. Try to book to help Maz and Antonio keep it running smoothly.
The clocks go BACK at 2.00 am Sunday morning. so remember to put your alarm on for 2.00 am and reset your clocks. I only have 3 to set as The one in my bedroom has been an Hour slow for the past 6 months.

The sun is now poking its head out from the clouds. Going to be another hot day. It feels like it is still August. it will soon feel a bit cooler on a night.
Some exciting news for you all. My team was third ( from the top) on Fridays quiz. with the help of John. Paul and Steve team were beaten into second place by Lee and Dean, but only because Lisa is here and helped them out. Nice to see her again.
Sunday Roast Dinners will be available from 12.30 till 5.00pm. Please try and book to save disappointment.

It was a good quiz night last night. only 9 or 10 teams, but a good night. Lee, Dean, were the winning team. My team was very close to them. The next table to be precise. We didnt get last place, but second last is a win for us.

As I sit here on my balcony, I am feeling a nice breeze blowing. Very pleasant it is too.
After a busy Friday quiz. We were fourth , from last, but there were 15 teams so we didnt do so bad. We beat Lee, Dean and Cherry. I think. Dont know where Geoff and Paulines team came. Possibly behind us. lol

The bar was packed again for Sunday Roast. Unfortunately, Maz had to turn people away again. ALL those who booked, were catered for, plus a few who chanced it. But some were unlucky.. To the 50+ who booked. Thank you. It makes life a little easier for Maz and Antonio. Shirley was a good help again as it was so busy.
I had a nice surprise when I got there. Maz told me that there were some Pork Pies from Malcolm Michaels Leeds butchers. I normally like Mustard, Brown Sauce, or Branston pickle with my pies. But these dont need anything. So tasty. Thanks Tommy and Elaine,. Get a drink on my tab. just in case I dont see you on Wednesday. I will try to get there around 3.00pm

Had a good night at the quiz. 15 teams and a packed house. inside and out.Standing room only at times. Last week we came fourth, and this week w came Fourth, from last. I cant understand it. The questions were easy to answer. If only we could have matched the answers to the questions. I think we knocked Lee Dean and Cherry into third last place. There were some new teams who were very good. One came Third and another beat Steve and Pauls team in a tiebreaker question. They were both so close to the correct answer ,
Sunday Roast is from 12.30 till 5.00 pm. Please book with Maz if you can.
It has been very muggy the past few nights. If you can get hold of an extra large sponge. Wear it.

Its Friday again. Time for the quiz tonight. 8.00 pm. Last week it was packed out and it was a lovely evening for sitting outside.
Hope you have all swatted up as my team are really on form now. Having come fourth last week, we intend to continue our way up the ladder. Be afraid, Be VERY afraid.

what a beautiful sunny Monday morning we are having. Oh dear, its already after noon. A little lie in now and again is permitted.
Thankfully, Maz has almost fully recovered and ran the quiz on Friday. It was well attended with 10 teams outside. People inside but dont think they were quizzers.
Steve and Pauls team were beaten into second place by ONE point. Lee and Dean coming first. My team did a really good job of coming fourth. We had some help from Denise and friend Pauline on holiday . They gave some decent answers we did the rest🤣
I just want to thank Ray and Julie from Derby for getting last place. I didnt know that Derby supporters were known as Sheep shearers.. Learn something new every quiz.
Sunday Roast went down a treat. Thank you to all those that managed to book. it makes organising , a little easier. and makes sure that you get a meal. There were a lot of walk_ins. Many managed to get a dinner, but Maz said that she had to turn 40+ people away. Dinners are 12.30 till 5.00pm if you want to book. Telephone number is on this F.B. page.
I bought a translater off internet. Just my luck. The instruction on how to start up and use it, are all in Chinese.
The new gardens and swimming pool for my block are coming along well. I have a feeling that it will be ready for next season. The childrens pool is at the other end of the gardens, well away from my apartment.
I hear that the temperature is going to drop this month. Should be down to 25c at times. That should keep Leigh Williams at the "Black Pearl "karaoke bar on the top strip happy.
I must tell you about my Chillies. I gave some to Eric, he likes a good curry. so he made his own . I didnt tell him how hot these things are. He made the curry and had to throw it away a it was too hot. I dont use them myself as I like to taste the food. Jalapeno are OK but not these.

Just a quick one to let you know that Maz is OK now after her sudden bout of flu. She sweated it out last night and is feeling much better.
Unfortunately, the quiz was called off , just as my team had filled our brains with trivia over the past week. We knew that we were due for a win. Looks like we will have to wait another week. We know we will win in November when the Dayman familly come over.
Sunday dinners tomorrow as normal.
The importance of booking. Last Sunday. Plenty of you booked and had a nice dinner. Some people didnt book and still got a nice dinner. BUT, some people didnt book and there was nothing for them. Please try to book.12.30 till 5.00pm Ta.
