Hola clientes y amigxs de El Bohio, soy Malorie, y lamentablemente tenemos una triste noticia para compartir. Después de 30 años, hemos decidido cerrar nuestras puertas. Y estamos muy agradecidos por los muchos años de apoyo.
Con toda honestidad, no ha sido fácil mantenerse abierto. Los últimos años tuvimos Zika y huracanes y terremotos y cortes de energía regulares y con la pandemia cerramos... Entonces, después de pensar mucho, me di cuenta de que ahora es el momento de decir adiós.
Han pasado 13 años desde que tomé El Bohio de manos de mi abuela, luego de que mi madre falleciera, y yo tenía 22 años. Estoy orgulloso de mí mismo por mantener abierto El Bohio durante tanto tiempo. Aunque siento que ahora es para nuevos comienzos para mí y mi familia.
Mis chicas de El Bohio, se han convertido en hermanas para mí. Hice amistades que durarán toda la vida y sin las bartenders de El Bohio no hubiera sido lo que es.
Y a todxs nuestros clientes, muchas gracias por todo el amor y apoyo durante los años. Todos ustedes son la razón por la que continué abierto. Todos extrañaremos El Bohio, ¡pero ahora es el momento de seguir adelante y ver qué otras puertas se abren! Siempre tendremos los recuerdos.
Hello El Bohio customers and friends, Malorie here, and unfortunately we have some sad news to share. After 30 years, we have decided to close our doors. And we are so incredibly thankful for all the years of support.
In all honesty, it has not been easy to stay open. The past few years we have gone from Zika to category 5 hurricanes to earthquakes, regular power outages, and then the global pandemic shutting us down… So after much reflection, I’ve realized that the time has come to say goodbye.
It’s been 13 years since I took over El Bohio from my grandmother, at that time my mother had just passed away, and I was 22 years old. I am proud of my self for stepping up and keeping El Bohio open for as long as I did. Although, I truly feel that it is time for new beginnings for me and my family.
To my El Bohio gang, my girls, they have become sisters to me. I made friendships that will last a lifetime and without the bartenders El Bohio would not had been what it is.
And to all our customers, thank you again for all the love and support over the years. You all are the reason I continued to stay open. El Bohio will be missed, but it’s time for me to move on and see what other doors will open up! We’ll always have the memories. ❤️
