Started rapping way back 1999 in his high school days, BSlim or now known as MARV joined the local Fliphop crew during his college years as the group were making noise through doing some shows with a mix of original and covers. As pioneers of the said group, MARV was one of the few members who continued to pursue the group’s dream which is to represent the elements of Hip Hop. By 2007, he and few other friends formed a group called THE REALIST. As the group was not that much of a success, he started doing some solo tracks. In 2010, he met Sick P and that is when the Brown Poetics was born. They started to make a name and got introduced to some artists as well and gained respect from other towns and cities. As they gained little fame, they started working with producers from Bacolod and Manila. The big break came when MARV was introduced by Hotnixx to Laidback Sounds, a west coast producer from Ireland who has produced songs for Snopp Dogg,Rbx, Spice 1 etc. After making a track for Laidback’s compilation, they agreed to work on a full album. And here we are, ISLAND CRUISIN’.
