At 32 years old, Xyrza Kate K. Romero achieved what few Filipinos have, a complete journey through all 82 provinces of the Philippines. Her adventure wasn’t just about visiting places, it was a story of courage, curiosity, and connection.

Xyrza began counting her travels officially in February 2020, but she also included trips from 2016 to 2019, tracing back the moments that ignited her love for exploration. She recalls that it all started with a simple adventure: climbing a mountain with her best friend. That climb opened the door to the vast beauty of Luzon, and soon, she found herself traveling farther and farther.

Determined to break stereotypes, Xyrza ventured into DIY (do-it-yourself) travel in Mindanao, proving that independent travel is not only possible but safe, even in places many consider challenging. While some destinations required joining tours due to their remoteness, she embraced each experience, learning the unique rhythm and character of every province she visited.

But Xyrza’s journey was never just about the places, it was about the people she met along the way. From small towns to bustling cities, she built connections that turned strangers into friends and ordinary trips into stories worth sharing. Through her stories and pictures, she hopes to inspire others to explore beyond the usual tourist spots like Boracay, Siargao, Cebu, or Palawan, showing that every corner of the Philippines has something to teach.

Her dedication paid off in September 2025, when she completed her final leg in Batanes, the northernmost province of the country. Xyrza recalls the relief and joy as her plane safely landed despite heavy rains in Manila and Clark, a reminder that preparation and patience are always worth it. She had booked her flight a year in advance, and every moment of planning and saving felt completely worthwhile.

Reflecting on her journey, Xyrza advises fellow travelers: “Save for travel and take your time. Collect stories, connections, and lessons. Every province has something to teach.”

Xyrza’s story is a testament to the beauty of exploration, the courage to start, the persistence to continue, and the joy of discovering both places and people along the way. Her journey across all 82 provinces reminds us that travel is not just a hobby, it’s a way to connect with the heart of the Philippines.
